Know nothing about smokers but want to smoke a Turkey for Thanksgiving. What Brand? Charcoal or Electric? ETC.

Get the new Camp Chef Woodwind Pro. It's one of the best pellet smokera in the market and the new Pro model has an added smoke box to really blast the shite outta your meat.

Weber Smokey Mountain 18". Simple to use, takes up little space. Good info available on Virtual Weber Bulletin Board.

WSM is a tried and true American classic. It produces incredible BBQ with minimal effort.

I have the 18" WSM don't see a turkey fitting in it unless you have the bird upright.
I love my WSM but wouldn't recommend it for smoking a turkey.
My family has done ducks the last 2 years instead of turkey. Just checked 2 ducks will fit on the top grate of the 18".

You need to give us more details on what you want.
How much do you care about best results in regards to smoke flavor vs ease of use of smoker?
What is your budget?

If you have the budget get a large or xl Big Green Egg. It will make decent BBQ and is great for smoking poultry. It is also about the most versatile smoker/grill. It can even be used as a pizza oven.

Pellet grill will be easiest to use right out of the box.
I have an Oklahoma Joe Bronco (Drum Smoker) and it's been a great simple cooker. I'm doing my turkey on it for Thanksgiving and haven't decided if I'm going to cook it on the grate or hang it vertically with hooks

Masterbuilt Gravity Series, any of them.
Just as easy as pellet except you get closer to stick taste. And as versatile as ceramic smokers as far as high heat grilling and pizza. Recommend the 800 because you get a griddle with it as well. Hard to beat a gravity for ease and taste. Might be able to still find one at Walmart for $347 if you check brickseek.

I’m not sure my first smoke would be for Thanksgiving. Is it just you or are you serving a bunch of people? Better have a backup plan or buy it quick and start practicing. Smoking meats has a learning curve no matter what smoker you buy.

Definitely agree with the WSM, but the 22” if you think you will ever do briskets.

I’ve done a couple with no problem. The web is full of pics of whole turkeys being smoked on one.

I just bought a Weber Smokey Mountain and it is extremely easy to use and creates a ton of smoke.

Kamado joe doubles as a grill and smoker, is more affordable than BGE, does the same shite and has more accessories that aren’t as expensive. I saw an insane deal at Costco a couple weeks ago for $400 for the kamado joe 2 which is normally well over $1000.

Looks like the 560 is $100 off an Amazon right now. Seems like a good deal

Started out with one of those, worked great and loved it. Moved up to the 800 when Walmart marked them down to 347.
