Where in BR can someone get some good Mexican/Greek food that is real authentic. Every place I see seems to have the same items on their menus. I watch TV and see places that offer unique dishes but haven't ever been able to find anyplace in the BR area. I would appreciate any suggestions on where I should try.

Have you been to the supermarket La Morenita? Cheap, hot food including tacos and some cooked dishes. Definitely pitched at a Mexican audience, if that’s the sort of authentic you’re seeking.

Zorbas for Greek

La Morenita and El Tiendo for Mexican

ETA: La tiendita, not el tiendo. Really messed that one up

Mexican: la Morenita or la Tienda

Greek: I’ve heard good things about Zorbas.
Lebanese: the full service Albasha’s or Serop’s (not the express)

it seems Albasha express on lee expanded their menu to include more from the full restaurant. I dont hesitate to go there anymore.

Let me preface and say I'm a salt lover. I don't shy away.

First time we tried this location, it was so salty that most of it got thrown away. Next time we tried it, same thing.

So I'm hesitant to try again. Has it gotten any better on the salt? For reference, I think the saltiness came from the chicken itself.

Just giving Zorba's another vote. The food is great and the owners are very friendly.

Ah. I don't think I've been to a regular Albasha. So they're all salty then Noted.

I love Roman's, however.

I've eaten at lots of places in Greece and I can say that Zorba's is pretty damn authentic. Awesome place all around.

My first-generation Greek SIL doesn't like Zorba's, compared, I guess, to his mom's cooking, His mom is a really good cook.

I like Zorba's, though, and have since the 1980's. Best hummus (lemony) and gyros (grilled over charcoals) in town. I like the Mixed Grill, the Snapper with mustard sauce, and the paputsakia (seafood stuffed eggplant) the most. Oh yeah, the meat stuffed grape leaves in bechamel sauce is killer, too.
