No doubt Billy’s makes awesome boudin. I’ve been eating that stuff long before he opened the Scott location.

However, I just choose not to go to that location unless there’s very few vehicles in the parking lot. Other great options at that exit without having the line.

Now when I’m in Opelousas, it’s a definite stop. That location I can walk in and out quickly.

Yeah I like Billy’s, especially those pepper Jack rolls, but basically any time I am passing by I am on my to an event in BR so no time to stop and wait in line for 15-30 minutes. I dont care about demographics however.

frick Billy’s. I’ll never step foot in there again.

About 5 years ago I was going to a ball in Rayne from Lafayette. My sister asked me to bring a couple pounds of boudin for our table so I called Billy’s and placed an order for like 5 lbs. and told them I’d pick it up at around 6:30 pm because we were supposed to be in Rayne by 7:00. Woman at Billy’s says no problem.

So I show up at Billy’s at 6:30, and the fricking line is almost out the door. Must have been 20-30 people in line, and they’ve only got two registers open. Well there’s no way I can wait that long, so I walk up to the last register and politely tell the woman that I called in an order hours ago to pick up at 6:30. She asks my name and I tell her and she says, “Yeah, it’s ready, it’s back there on the counter. So I say, “Great, can you ring me up?” The bitch then says, “No, you have to wait in line.”
I’m trying to keep my cool and say, “Ma’am, I called in this order hours ago, and I have to be somewhere shortly and don’t have time to wait in line. What’s the point of calling in an order hours beforehand if I have to wait in line for half an hour when I get here?” Then she say like a smartass, “You can’t cut the line.”

That was it, I lost my shite. I called her a bitch and told her to stick that boudin up her fat arse and walked out and have never been back. And I tell everyone how shitty their service is. frick you Billy’s.

What kind of shitty place takes call-in orders and then makes you wait in line to check out?

If it was just about service and quality they would put Billy’s out of business.

Yea but its about boudin and that's why Billy's has a 30min wait.

Personally, I love boudin. I have tried them all and I feel that it’s like crawfish. Roughly 80% of it taste the same by all makers and 20% a slight variation. Not enough to get me to wait in long lines. So, when in Scott I find the shortest line and vary my boudin purchase from the previous visit.

Best Stop is worth the extra two minute drive, brother.

This. Billy's is my go to, but when the line gets too long, I head to Best Stop (Or Nunus). It blows my mind when I see poeple waiting in a Billy's line that wraps around the inside of the store and makes it outside too. There are so many other options in that area, which I really don't find that big of a difference between my favorites.

She didn’t ask for it.

I assumed that any decent business has a process to quickly take care of call-in orders. I was wrong.

Once again, frick Billy’s.

I absolutely hear where you're coming from, but I kind of have to side with them on this. Any place where I'm able to order ahead and then bypass a checkout line is only because I prepaid for my item.

If I call in an order at the deli counter, I still have to wait in line at the checkout to pay for my order. I've just saved time by not having to wait there while they prep my order.

5lbs of boudin is nothing at billys. I dont think that will get you special treatment.
