They're good, but don't beat Chick Fil A

And as some others have mentioned, as they get bigger I bet it will get worse which makes chick Fil a that much more impressive.

Chick fil a is closed on Sunday, by virtue of this Canes is the winner.

I managed there back in the day. Basically we didn't just hire anyone who applied and there is a long training program. We would work around students schedules so would always have plenty college/high school kids. Plenty great black employees as well. If u were caught being rude to a customer good chance u would be fired.

Its all about The owner/bosses

If you hire level headed kids that follow instructions well (usually high school/college kids) and expect more from them than you will get more from them

Also if you set your focus on having the best run store at first moreso than making more money you set up a good ground for the business to succeed

I see people do this all the time... It's funny how people are so aware of what board a thread should be posted...do they have nothing better to do?

One of the reasons is they don't mess around. You miss your shift or get caught misbehaving or being rude in anyway most likely you're gone. I've heard it kind of sucks because they're so anal about everything.

all 3 of my kids have worked there and they are the only place that would work around high school sports schedules. they also only hired high school kids with good grades.

I find myself more surprised when i go to a fast food place and my order is correct, than if my order is fricked up

Louisiana FF workers= black
Texas= Mexican
Arkansas= white trash

I love going to canes and chik fila so i can have my order not be fricked up.

+1

Any fast foot place, other than Cane's and Chik-fil-a, I have to check even my UNsweet tea to make sure it's not sweet. I even emphasize the "UN"sweet tea to the worker on the microphone and they still get it wrong over half the time.

Can you imagine BK having crawfish boils and employee parties? The murder rate in BR would go up substantially.

It isn't just the employees. Management bears some of the brunt for the incompetence.

When I lived in Austin, the only truly bad experience I had at a fast food chain was of course at Popeyes.

The Wendy's near my apartment should be a used to teach other businesses how to do it right. In 3 years, the only mistake they made was to give me an extra burger and the line never took more than a few minutes even when the line was all the way out of the parking lot. Insanely well run. I used to eat there at least 3 times or more a week.

Taco Cabana could be a bit slow at 2am but what do you expect at 2am.

I'm sorry but the difference between fast food in New Orleans and fast food in Austin really is night and day.

And that is coming from a recovering fast food addict.

I don't know what Cane's is

It's basically Guthries. A former Guthries employee copied everything about Guthries from the chicken finger recipe, the chicken sandwiches, the "secret sauce", and everything else and called it Cane's. The only difference is he aggressively marketed the chain and had aspirations of growing into a large chain whereas Guthries is content with it's 20 or so locations.

It's so funny to me how people here bash Guthries without realizing that Cane's was started by a former Guthries guy using the exact same menu.
