Scrolling through it and it has 3 outlined crawfish of various sizes and some vendors, Tony’s for example has the middle one (I’m assuming size) colored in.

Does this mean they are selling medium crawfish?

And I need three sacks for Saturday in BR. Any recommendations?

i took it as a rating and not the size

Fat Boys on Burbank I think has the best crawfish in the city when buying live

Crawfish are the size and the star is the rating.

That’s what I thought.

So I need to call Burbank. I will buy from Tony’s but they won’t reserve them.

Fat Boys are showing $3.00lb Tony’s $2.79

BR is always more expensive than Nola and Lafayette surrounding areas.

Ill gladly a little more to know what im getting. Ive gone the cheaper route and I hate dumping them out of the sack and going ugh why did I go cheap

He has been nice to me when Ive talked to him on the phone.

I picked up from his son 2 weeks ago and he was friendly

How many are a ton of dead crawfish?

He's friendly until you show up with about 5-6 lbs of dead crawfish in a bag. I've had sacks where there was some dead loss but not like that. Looked like the sacks were old and he was trying to get rid of them. The replacement sack had 4 dead crawfish total.

I picked up on a Saturday. Showed me crawfish he was boiling that definitely didn't represent what I got in my sacks. Dude was an a-hole I'd rather pay a little more now to not go through it again. And with Sammy's right there selling much better crawfish for about the same price I'll just go there.

Sammy’s is selling live?

I have bought a lot from Tony’s and always happy but as I said they don’t reserve so I don’t want to get jammed. And I don’t mind paying a bit for good ones as well since I only boil on in awhile.

The one on Highland did last year and the last time I was in there picking up food I heard the lady give a live price over the phone so I believe they are this year as well. Call tomorrow I'm sure they can tell you if they are or not.

I boiled 4 sacks from Al yesterday. No complaints. Didn’t even look at the price

NOLA seafood on Flannery. It's a small hood store, but he had $50 sacks and $2.10 a pound sacks. I got the $2.10 a pound sack. It was a 35 pound sack with mediums mainly, would hate to see the $50 sack. It's kind of busy there, but they are quick. This was my second time getting them from there. I bought a sack last year and he asked it I wanted pond or river crawfish? I asked where do the river crawfish come from and he said Belle River, so I got those. They were nice size, just muddy as hell. In the two visits combined, I would say I had 10 to 12 dead total.

The ratings and sizes are based on a very small amount of registered user input. Don’t put much stock in that.
