Putting a pack of salted peanuts in a 20 oz bottled coke?

Any old timers do this? My grandpa and my old basketball coach were the first people I ever saw do this and my first reaction was that it looked disgusting. After further review, it's actually pretty good.

I have done it a few times, never really thought it was that great. I think people like to do it because of the reaction they get from people.

My old boss did this. Always wondered why...just sprinkle salt in it and it would be the same thing basically.

One of the most vile things ever to pass by my taste buds. That idea was a few decades ago, and it will never happen again.

My dad does it all the time with diet coke. I've tried it and don't care much for it. Hell, I think cheese puffs and applesauce taste good together, so I can't judge.

I work with two people who do this. One of them is old and the other is a Yankee.

my first boss (at a convenience store) used to do this. I figured it was because he was Indian.
I tried it once at his insistence... meh.

Might try this next time I'm feeling extra goofy!

Don't people put salt in chocolate milk as well?

This was quite popular when I was a teenager (I know, long time ago). Never saw the attraction. I think it was supposed to be a sign of "coolness" back then.

I still do this and I love it. One of my favorite "snacks". But I can't fathom using Diet Coke

Still has to be better than the kool-aid packet in a gallon of milk craze that hit in the 90s. Man I pissed off my parents by doing that

My dad used to do this on road trips but he would put them in Barqs. I've never tried it.

Last time I did that was at least 50 years ago. We did it with an orange drink - thought it was cool. Then I grew up.
Also shot pool with a tom's peanut bag on the cue to make it slide better (peanut grease lubricant).
I have more respect for stuff now.

I know I'm dating myself, however, back in the day when you got a coke or d.p. in a glass bottle and drank some of the soda down, then add the peanuts in, pure delight. You get a little foam initially, then the mix of sweet and salty was delicious. Great times. May have to try again. GEAUX TIGERS!! Through Thick and Thin
