update from fast #1: 199 yesterday morning, 197.5 yesterday when i got home (before i devoured a steak, handful of almonds and some blueberries in cream) and 196.0 this morning.

clearly some of the water retention from my weekend of drinking and carousing (plus bonus monday game) is working its way out of my system but i'll report back in each thursday on my once-per-week mini-fast and see if the numbers improve.

as a baseline, the lowest i ever saw on the scales last year was 190 so i've definitely drifted up around 5-10lbs since then. the goal is to break through the 190 plateau and keep going down by end of feb.

awesome job! you have officially lost 19 lbs more than me now

however, 80lbs was my total end goal so i wont ever catch you. here's to your 100 lb milestone! you hit 100 and i'll find a way to get to BR and treat you to ruths. you deserve it.

great read from new york times today

“What we see here is a coordinated defense mechanism with multiple components all directed toward making us put on weight,” Proietto says. “This, I think, explains the high failure rate in obesity treatment.”

Yeah, I was the first one to be promised a hot dog and then basically told "sike." The CT incident wasn't the first time CAD has done this.

Yeah, Hulk. You'll surely starve to death waiting on CAD.

Congrats!

I dropped a buck fifty! Where's my ribeye Cad???

323/170.6/165

Slowly getting back down to pre-holiday weight. Very slowly.

I wonder what I did different this time. The Thanksgiving weight came off much faster and I ate more over Thanksgiving.

I'm still 7 from my low and about 3.5 from pre-Christmas.

The office competition really is keeping me in check. I haven't thought about visiting taco bell for two weeks. Mmmmmmm taco bell....

If you have a chance to get in a competition, do it.

'the more fat you eat, the more weight you gain'
- doctor on good morning america today regarding paula dean

i love it.

no it has nothing to do with the fact dean is already obese and clearly lives a sedentary lifestyle. and once again sugar gets a free pass.
