210/182/180

Just reporting in. Last report 2 months ago was 210/179/180. I have been maintaining basically 180-185 just doing the same thing. Work out, eat right, and cheat on special occasions with no guilt.

I have been keeping up with all of my fellow puttadaforkdowner's. Keep up the good work and remember when you reach your goal, don't let it get away from you again. All the hard work is worth it for me because I feel so much better this way.

It will get easier.

I had a bad spell. The free office lunch on Wednesday carried over to leftovers on Friday which carried over to Saturday.

I went from 166 to 172.7, mostly from massive sodium. I had some chicken wings that tasted like they had been drowned in salt.

I had a great Sunday and Monday and I am back down to 168.9.

My weight fluctuates like crazy depending on my sodium intake.

Wednesday lunch has been moved to Christmas lunch Thursday so I have one extra day to get back down to my goal before I chow down on Thursday.

Get back in here RIGHT NOW!

Quit nibbling on Christmas cookies and drinking egg nog!

323/168.1/165

Doesn't look like I will get back to 165 before the next round of cheats.

you can do that Hulk, these next few days before the weekendshouldn't be too many opportunities to cheat, at least I hope so. Looks like your goal is attainable

225/198/185

Glad I weighed this AM and am down a pound from this weekend but I feel as though I'm kinda stuck. Had a no cheat weekend but I may have to really watch my fat intake. I have eggs and bacon or a little sausage about 3x a week. When I looked up eggs the cholesterol amount in those isn't good. Maybe egg beaters? Last time I did Atkins about 5 yrs ago I lost 30 some pounds in 12 wks, all my blood work came back to normal except cholesterol which stayed around 200. My sugar was high and my triglycerides were off the chart but now those are normal. I think I may tend to over do it on the fatty snacks like cheese at times. Now that I have lost a decent amount I think after New Yrs I will start watching calories/fat alot closer. Dunno but I wanted to be at 195 by New Years and that seems hard now. Will be out of town traveling alot next week and have some definite cheat meals planned. Maybe if I work hard this week and only cheat a little this weekend I may be able to maintain. My workouts are increasingly getting better each day and I know I am burning more calories, so with that comes an increase in appetite. Time to re-eval and get stricter and fine tune the diet.

yes you sure picked a bad time to start this, congrats though for the effort

it will get easier as time goes on, seems those first few weeks are the toughest,i tried to drink plenty of water to flush the system. Stay strong and check in with any questions, most of us have been doing it for a while and can help

I've started eating a little leaner than I previously did and I've noticed the weight seems to be coming off faster/easier. I use turkey bacon instead of regular bacon, olive oil or EVOO instead of butter. I found the Kraft Olive Oil mayo is absolutely delicious and much less fat. I've eaten less pork, more lean meats. Instead of 80/20 ground meat, I'm getting ground turkey. More tuna, shrimp, and fish. It's still a higher fat diet than non-fat, but I'm sure I've cut my fat intake a lot. And don't worry about the cholesterol in eggs. Your cholesterol intake doesn't affect your cholesterol numbers all that much. 200 is fine. Triglycerides are going to be a little high on a high fat diet; now I don't understand how your blood sugar is high on a low-carb diet. Doesn't add up.

I worded that wrong, my sugar and triglycerides are now normal, they were high before I started the diet especially my triglycerides, so maybe I'm looking too much into the fat thing but yes I will switch over to more turkey products and less fatty foods. I like the olive oil mayo and have been meaning to switch back. The only thing about some of the processed meats I've noticed is the sodium. I was snacking on turkey cold cuts and then I noticed the sodiunm is kinda high, but again I need to watch the AMOUNTS I eat

Has anyone set their goals based on BMI or the BMR numbers?

Ohhh okay, that makes sense. And yes, stay away from processed meats. Hell, stay away from all processed foods if you can help it. Atkins recommended you go as "au naturale" as you can. Fresh veggies, not canned. Fresh meats, etc. All that processed stuff has hidden carbs and lots of sodium. Do yourself a favor and start looking at all of the sodium on canned foods and most processed foods. It's ridiculous.

Yes definately avoid canned and most processed foods. I really watch my sodium for the most part because of BP problems

167.2

I was hoping to get back to 165 before the cheating marathon.

The next 4 days are going to be a blur.

I wish my fat brain could learn to cheat and enjoy the darn food without eating until the explosion point.

Just .6 more and I would be able to round down and say I lost 80 Got a hot date tonight (not, just a friend coming in from nola) and we're going to BJ's Brewhouse. I know the menu pretty well and what I can order and stay low carb, but there's always hidden carbs..
