Thanks hulk. At 62 I really got a wakeup call. Its tuff, but I have to. I am lucky to have friends that fightMMA and they really push me in the gym.

I've been told that it's a good thing that I've decided to take up losing weight at a young age; I know it's true because if I keep it off I'll lead a much more healthy life. Keep up the good work. You are inspiring

I figured a potato doing cardio would cause a board meltdown similar to a bad clock management by Miles on the Rant.

It's so insanely ironic that I chose to not think about it because my brain can't handle it.

uh

I don't know what kind of lifestyle this guy leads, but I rarely find myself without the 15 minutes it takes to eat.. And when I'm hungry, there's nothing to do, and there's food around... It's eating time. In fact, it's a routine. I get up, take my dog out, cook breakfast and pack lunch, eat, shower, put on work clothes and go to work. 10:30 is my first break, snack time. 1 o'clock is my lunch break, lunch time. 3 is my 2nd break, snack time. Get home for 6, dinner time.

Maybe I just don't have an active enough lifestyle?

Interesting. I actually do the 18 hour fast all the time. Not on purpose, not planned but I have to force myself to eat breakfast. A lot of times I dont. Add in I eat dinner early 5-5:30 and a lot of times eat nothing after and tada... i have 18 hour fasts. I am new age and I didnt even know it

i used to do something similar..2 things have helped:

1. being at work all day away from food keeps me from thinking about it..helps if i'm busy

2. realizing i'm just as hungry for dinner whether or not i eat breakfast and lunch.

3. dreaming all day long about that ribeye i'm going to cook when i get home..GUILT FREE..if i've not eaten all day when i get home i can enjoy everything i eat without worrying about it.

4. those 'training intervals' i was doing on the bike..short and hard (V02 max) and frankly i just dont feel like eating when i'm done..i take a shower..put the kids to bed..then hop in bed. those are GREAT days for fat-burning. i know its not for everyone..but i love working out on an empty stomach (and apparently competing in the state time trial on an empty stomach as well)

1. I work at a desk where I literally sit down and take calls for 8 hours. When it's not busy, I have sometimes 30+ minutes between calls. There's nothing else for me to do to stay busy. In fact, I just ordered the 4 books for Game of Thrones so I have something to do besides troll forums. Also, our bosses force us to take breaks.

2. I don't think I'm just as hungry for dinner as if I skip breakast and/or lunch. I could easily eat dinner later, and often do because I'm not always immediately hungry when I get home.

3. I thought we're doing Atkins. A ribeye when you get home is "GUILT FREE" anyway.

4. Well I can't really comment on #4.
