you know how screwed up my eating is...

i was just saying what i've been doing..not necessarily saying its the best way of going about it..i should have pointed that out.

hulk one suggestion..not sure where you bathroom is...but one thing i do (i work in a gigantic building) is a 'tour' when i need to pee. i don't go to the bathroom right nexgt door..instead i walk down 4 flights of stairs..then go to other end of building and sprint up 4 flights at the opposite end..go to bathroom..then walk down that same 4 flights..stop and do pushups at the bottom (no one ever takes these stairs..its an old industrial building..and then back to the stairs on the other end..sprint up them...then back to my desk.

i feel great when i sit back down because like you..i sit in front of my computer 8 hours a day at work. its the only exercise i get..and it takes less than 10 minutes to do.

sometimes i only get 1 tour in in a day..but its still better than nothing.

thats where i really started to tone my arms.

also i started out walking the stairs..it wasnt until after 6 or 7 months of weight loss i even attempted to run up them so if u do soemthing like this..dont overdo it at the start.

also the pushups..i could barely do 10 in the beginning and i've worked my way up to 40 now...and i do them with my feet on the 4th step! it works different muscles doing elevated pushups.

anyway..just a thought..this is cool because you get a good workout in...in a very short period of time..and you dont have to change clothes and go to the gym & shower and all that hassle.

think about it..i do this 3x in a day (who doesnt have 3 10-minute breaks?) and i've climbed 24 flights of stairs and done 120 pushups.

not a bad workout and it sneaks up on you how much you've done.

Good morning to everyone. Last night I got a round of applause at kickboxing. Evidently it's a right of passage to throw up during a workout. Instructor, who was holding the bagand pushing me, gave me a welcome to the club hug. Strange though, scale this morning showed 3lb gain. Hope it's just fluid retention,as I didn't overeat.oh well.it is what it is,but I sure did enjoy seeing 299 yesterday.

This happens to all of us, CC.

Hulk (and everybody) I have not seen a discussion about eating later in the evening. Isn't it in our best interests not to eat late? I have found it beneficial to eat my larger meal at midday, then more of a small meal in the early evening. Eating a meal and then going to bed without moving around seems counterproductive to me.

Yes, it is being controlling. This is a message board that you do not own and are not the police of. People will talk about whatever they deem appropriate. Worrying about what YOU should be doing may help you to reach your goal. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read it.

There are no stairs in my office and the bathroom's right around the corner

And I know you weren't trying to tell me what to do, but I just don't think that everyone has a busy enough lifestyle to inadvertently fast. I'd have to really go out of my way and suffer through hunger to fast most of the time.

I'm confused.

Who's being controlling? I went back and read what Bench said and I don't understand why he said what he did.. Was it because of the joking going on?

Yes, and this is not the first time. It is because we are having a little fun together and being a little friendly. Apparently we must only discuss dieting and weight issues and keep it serious

oh

meh hatters gonna hat

Bench But I think it's okay for us to be friendly and joke around with each other - we're all friends here. Better than the arguing imo.

this is completely normal and expected.

1. when you workout..you lose fluids and often when you replace them you have more water weight.

2. working out tears up your muscles (why they're sore) and they fill with water while repairing themselves..so its almost 100% guaranteed for 2-3 days after you've had a serious workout you'll be heavier. of course the end result is you've added muscle so its all good.

3. do NOT try to compare a 'low calorie intake' day with what the scales show. you will go insane. you might eat at a calorie deficeit for 4 days and not show any loss..then pig out and the next day you're down 2lbs. the point is our bodies don't react like finely tuned machines..they fight us and do all kinds of things to demotivate us.

its simple: if its been working for you..stick with it..dont let a week of anomalous weigh-ins take you off track or make you think you can no longer lose weight..it WILL start moving again..and usually when you least expect it.

H, Just taking one for team.

170/151/147 (target formerly 150)

all this extraneous reading is obviously helping me reach my goal.

CT, I'm sorry. I'll try to keep this control issue in check.

Joking around and keeping light spirits is part of the whole process Bench.

Even the spirited debates are a much needed way to blow off steam.

And I am sure the ladies like a little attention as long as it doesn't become OT level creepy.

Dear lord it is hot out there. The thing about riding a bike is the wind generated by riding can really deceive you. Even though I wasn't physically feeling hot, my soaked shirt paints a different picture. It really is time for me to get that damn water bottle before I pass out from heat stroke and dehydration.

How the F are you riding 20 miles and don't have a water bottle? Get yourself a camelpak and you'll thank me later.

Of course a $10 water bottle will do just as fine but that camel pak is convenient as hell.

Yes, it IS really hot. Everybody PLEASE be careful in this heat. I had issues twice already with it, and none of us need to end up in the hospital where they will pump sugar water into us. It would be sad to lose one of y'all like that.

CT, and everyone, I re-read my post and realized that I said "you" and meant "We are all capable losers" a Milesism, and an obviously unsuccessful attempt at humor. It was supposed to recognize success and came of negatively.

I am sorry.
