never forget that regardless of atkins, etc you are training yourself to eating less. do that and you win.

so to your point, i eat an atkins protein bar for breakfast and typically thats it. 2-3 cups of coffee during the day and then i pretty much eat what i want at dinner.

you wont die if you dont eat breakfast..but if you get tired of eggs try buying some low carb protein bars or something as an alternative

I've had so many eggs over the last year I can't eat them anymore. I actually gag eating scrambled eggs now.

So I switched to tuna fish with avocado for breakfast.

Cad you should know better than to say skipping breakfast won't kill you. Maybe not but it slows you down. You need to get that engine churning each day with breakfast.

And you need to watch those Atkins bars. Some of those suckers are loaded with carbs even though it is made by the creators of a dang low carb diet.

Creeping back down ever so slowly, but I have another damn dinner out tonight.

check the latest studies..they are now saying the myth (rimshot) of a big breakfast is exactly that..a myth. your metabolism readlly doesnt slow down like they've been telling us for years.

And this writer also wrote up this, myths of the metabolism:

thats why this is the greatest thread ever on TD. there's so much mis-informatioon out there and people believe what they hear repeated over and over again as if the more times people say it the more true it becomes.

I normally only eat once a day and my weight stays pretty constant.

a year ago i couldnt have imagined going until 4-5pm having only a couple hundred calories.

skip lunch?? are you out of your mind?? i'd be eating the carpet in my office by 3pm.

but when i finally cut out fast-food lunches..i slowly morphed into someone who didn't require a big lunch to get me to dinner.

the upshot is that the less you eat during the day, the smaller your stomach is..and the less you'll eat at night..even if you're really hungry.

food should serve you, not the other way around. unfortunately whether we choose to admit it or not, we serve the god of food. dont be the bitch in the relationship! own the food. make it your bitch and YOU tell it when and what and how much you eat.

this is also the lesson i learned by my mini-fasts. i realized i wouldn't fall over dead if i skipped a day or 2 of food every so often. a fast puts things into perspective.

once again, i will point out the dude in men's heatlh (btw men's health is my FAVORITE site and magainze..those people know what the hell they're talking about) who went 23 days without eating..and working out hard each day despite everyone telling him he "had" to eat or he'd have no energy to do hard workouts. bullshite. lies and damn lies. i've ridden HARD 3-4 hour bike rides on days where i ate NOTHING the day before except the cream in my coffee. explain that.

point is you got enough fat to sustain u for a long time even if food disappeared for a week...take away from this the point that you're more of a slave to food than you probably realize.

god i'm a blow-hard on this thread y'all just start telling me to shut up

hell no, I enjoy reading your informative posts

I may end up cheating Tuesday.. My dad is coming into town and we're going to grab lunch. He knows im on Atkins and has done it before so he knows about it. I'm sure we can find somewhere that I won't have to cheat to eat but we'll see.

I eat like a horse at dinner most of the time, although I have been cutting back to reduce my sodium intake.

while i believe you..i bet if you had a big lunch your stomach would be more stretched out and you'd eat more at night than you do now. you'll start to feel full faster.

This is soooo true. After working out for about an hour and a half during the week sometimes I walk in to the house at night with maybe one or two hundred calores for the day (food eaten - excercise) Hell sometimes I walk in with a calorie deficit.

And you are right. I eat about 600 to 800 calories for dinner and I am stuffed.

It seems that less you eat over time the less you want to eat.

side was baked eggplant tomato stacks.

Welcome aboard. All are welcome, even Bama fans.

Great job on the loss. 140 is pretty darn thin at any height. That might be tough to get down to.

Good luck.

Turn the lights out when you leave, I'm off to sleep.
