Congrats on the new low.

I've really got to start stretching. From my lower back to the bottom of my hamstrings have been feeling weird the last few days. Uncomfortable.

Think it's the tennis? I know it engages those muscles more.

I'm using this as a loose guide:

Work & relationship have both been stressful, and I haven't been going to the gym regularly lately. So dumb. I know working out will make the stress more manageable.

Isn't that something? If I'm feeling down or stressed I don't feel like working out, but working out actually boosts my mood and relieves stress. So you'd think that's when I should want to workout the most.

Work clothes fitting snugly this morning after 5 days at the all-inclusive in cancun.

Back on the pain train. Think today will be a full day fast after several 4000-5000 calorie days.

What does everyone think about using this bar for deadlifts?

My form is so terrible with the straight bar that I am constantly hitting my knees/legs with the damn bar. Is using a bar like the one shown in the picture above just as effective as using a straight bar?

There's pros and cons of trap bar deadlifting. I prefer the conventional as it's better for posterior chain.

I think the cliff notes is that Trap bar is probably the safer lift, though less effective.

Here's a long article describing some differences.

There are tons of YouTube videos on dead lifting. Don't skimp by using the trap bar

Watch the videos, then film yourself or have someone who knows what to look for watch you. Or post it here

Step out the comfort zone imo. Nailing a nice dead is gratifying

I'm itching to lift. Tomorrow will be a week. If y'all haven't tried this chest infection yet, it's awesome.

Forced vacation from the gym. 7 days

No #Gainz. Like having two tickets to paradise, except it's not paradise. It's hell.

Dude, I'm fine with pain. I thrive on it.

This was an issue of air getting into my lungs, and green chunks coming out. Not supposed to work that way. I'm no pulmonologist, but my mother is. And she told me it isn't supposed to work that way. She reads good, btw.

That sounds terrible. Might have been that new batch of GITM that did it to you.

I'll have to find a way to get them. Leaving for the beach on the 1st.

Let me know if you come in town any time before then. If not I might have to grab lunch at Rips on the lake this weekend.

its not bad if your are hitting your legs. you need to keep the bar close as possible, and it does scrape shin on occasion

hitting your knees is a problem. they should be cleared as the bar passes them.

here's a video i like to show novices

Nice, I'm going to get someone to film me next time to see how I compare.

Fairly certain my lack of flexibility in my hamstrings is what causes this lift to be difficult. Same reason I cannot do a proper squat.
