I was honest. It was terrible. I wouldn't even know how to fix it. They should throw away the recipe and start over. I'd prefer to drink a natural light over it. I'm not even sure it's an IPA like they state.

It's on east pine street, next door to chalereaux, and Jani king, across the street from Winchester tattoo co. No signs up yet, but when you pass you can see the tanks through the front window, which was lined with their brand coasters for a few days.

Clean Slate is terrible - I guess if you like bitter flavorless IPA than it would be acceptable. I had several of the samples before it officially released and thought to myself "hey, maybe they'll fix this shite before it goes live". It didn't happen. The Bartender @ Blue Oak a few months ago gave us samples and we dumped them in the parking lot on the way out.
I'll give them a pass for now since they are new. What's crazy to me is that their shite is turding on shelves everywhere now - space that could be better-occupied with real local beer.

It's not the best local beer, sure, but it's not like Hopitoulas is that much better. And Holy Roller isn't that good either.
I don't like Clean Slate, but I'm willing to wait on them to get it right. And I've voiced my opinions about the beer to the owner, as have many of my friends. He will come around eventually.

I said the same thing. The more options the more competition in a market where there is room for new players. Just wondering what their rush was to get it out to the public when it clearly wasn't ready.

As far as NOLA breweries, I'd say Holy Roller is the best flagship canned IPA you can get at this point.

You've got some damn good choices in the local area, if not specifically in NOLA. It seems that I'm reading about a new brewery every week on this board. More choices are coming. Two short years ago, everyone was complaining that there isn't a single decent IPA in the state of La.
I think it just so happens that the best brewery in NO specializes in sours, right? Nothing wrong with that. Nobody criticizes Jester King and De Garde for their shitty IPAs, and NOLA makes much better stouts and IPAs than those guys do.

And if NOLA would bottle/can some of their taproom stuff a lot of people would change their tune.

I am a big proponent of using the taproom as a first stage to guage the interests of a variety of palettes before going to larger production
I think too many Brewers surround themselves with sycophants. As such, they follow bad advice.

Because Jester King and de Garde don't kettle sour. If you like that sort of thing it's great. And to be fair, not all of their beers are kettle sours, but they are all acetic and overly tart messes. The Desire they just released is a joke.

They've got crowlers and a new canner that can do some specialty beers. See the Hog Tied Wit in cans at the moment.
