So, I may well get skewered for asking this, but is the general consensus to roll these in breadcrumbs and deep fry? Someone brought me some from Kartchner's in Krotz Springs and though I've eaten Boudin Balls before, I've never cooked them. On the google, rolling in breadcrumbs and deep frying looks like the way I've seen them before, but I figured the TD F&D board is a more authoritative source.

I prefer to use crushed up saltine crackers as a coating.

Egg wash and flour if you want a fried chicken texture . Egg roll wrappers is another option. If you’re gonna make boudin balls, go the extra step and stuff with pepper jack cheese.

Is it the frozen ones already battered and fried or the naked ones, they have both. They sell a bag of their breading too I have that and a pack in the freezer. They said they role in the breading then water then breading then fry.

I prefer to roll them out and flash freeze. Then fry with no breading.

frozen ones, in balls already (look like meatballs), naked.

So here's what I did:

Thought they came out really nice. Forgot to take a pic until after eating, so not much of a presentation pic there. Thawed a few shrimp and made some panko shrimp to boot since I had the rare occasion of having a fry setup out. I think it was a win. Thanks for the recs.

I take boudin mix it up with the spicy Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage, add other spices if you like, then double batter with egg wash and flour. Fry them in the deep fryer at 375, 4 or 5 at a time for 4-5 minutes a batch, depending on the size.
