foie gras has a wonderful richness and buttery taste, it's just the texture that I can't handle in large amounts. and the texture thing goes for all things liver. that's probably because i've only eaten it by itself and not incorporated into another dish. the first few bites were outstanding, the rest of the slice got very difficult.

P.S. You might be insane for not liking pizza or fried chicken

Why is the waiter a douche? And I guess I'm full of shite because I love it. I order it at restaurants and I order it from Hudson Valley and cook it at home. Maybe it's an acquired taste but an appreciated one.

I like everything listed in this thread sans the lone Pancho mention.

No the guy was a douche for many reasons, I dont really appreciate waiters that are condescending when explaining a menu.

I feel like when the waiter asks "Do you have any questions", That is likely an appropriate time to ask questions. So when I do ask questions, I dont want to be talked to as if I am being the biggest inconvenience in the world. When I asked him what was foie gras and he responds - "You've never heard of foie gras" and carries on like I am fricking moron, I dont really appreciate it. I feel that me asking a question in itself implies that I dont know what it is. It is one thing to have heard the term, it is a completely different thing to know what the texture and taste is, but I have never had it.

I think that, especially since I am younger, that going out and having a nice meal can be a learning experience and enjoyable. Alot of that hinges on the waiter and his ability to explain dishes without sounding like we are the dumbest person alive.

Ooohhh. I can feel my blood pressure rising just hearing this.

That's where I ask him about the 2011 estate tax exemption.

French Fries
Milk
Peanut Butter
Chicken Fried Steak

And, I've never had a sweet tooth so I dislike:

Cookies
Candy
Cake
Pie

Things I gave up and that I really miss:

Lasagna
Pizza
Sharp Cheddar

Popular items that my wife will not eat:

Cheese and anything that has been near cheese (cheese atoms can fly several feet).
Water
Pie
Salads
Meat Loaf
Oddly, she drinks milk in coffee with a mix of 1 cup of heated milk with 4 tablespoons of coffee; however, she will not eat cereal with milk. She pours the Special K in a bowl and eats it dry with her hand.

Coconut, even the smell, makes me physically ill. But I didn't list it because I never thought of it as 'popular.'
