Sorry if Germans
I just ate at Pop's in Lafayette. It is way better than Old Tyme. I had the jack Special- turkey, ham, roast beef and debris. Also, their love for mayo rivals mine. This is the best po-boy in the Lafayette area by far.

ETA: the roast beef is actual pot roast not deli meat. These people also own Viva La Waffle

It's the first poboy option listed on their menu.

Got a shrimp po-boy at Chris' about 3 days ago at the Shell Gas Station one on Amb and Robley. It reminded me just how non exciting/bland they are.

They're ok but definitely not as good as Olde Tyme. I've always found their poboys to be pretty small in comparison to most other places.

Didn't realize that was the same people as well. I'll have one occasionally but usually find their too sweet. I just looked them up and didn't realize they now also offer root beer and a strawberry flavor so I'll give them a try next time I see them.

ETA: Looks like the strawberry is seasonal as well.

I always liked the Chris's special and their gumbo is outstanding. I only had Old Tyme once and it was not very good.

What about Julians? Only been a few times.
I ordered the ribeye poboy, it was a whole ribeye on a poboy bun. That was fun to eat. Reminded me of those ghetto pork chop sandwiches with the bone still in.
