The sandwich finally made its way to the culinary mecca of Monroe. That spicy is worth the hype.
Is this thing in every location yet? I'm getting tired of waiting.

I don’t know where you live but if you live within a few hrs of Louisiana you may want to drive down for the day and pick you up a few
It’s that good

I answered my own question -
Popeyes launching delicious, game changing, new chicken sandwich nationwide on 8/12
Time to order some elastic waistband shorts!

I come to eat crow. On page 17 of this thread I talked about how I was disappointed with this sandwich.
After giving Popeyes a second chance, my stance has changed. It appears as though the first sandwich I tried was a dud. This second time around was ten times better. The chicken was crispy and flavorful and the sauce and bun complimented it perfectly. I only wish they used the spicy batter for the chicken instead of relying solely on the sauce to make it spicy.
At $3.99 this is one of the greatest values in the restaurant industry.

Had another this evening to enjoy while watching the Saints. I ordered a side of red beans to add to the sandwich as suggested by others.
Had my food in less than 5 minutes after placing order.
I added about half of the beans to the sandwich.
While good I wouldnt add the red beans again.
The sandwich is damn near perfect on its own and why mess with perfection?

The gravy option as a topping sounds good

This thread has absolutely delivered like no other in recent memory. Had my second PSCS yesterday, and thanks to this thread it was consumed and enjoyed in pro style. Passed on adding red beans, but I did add a few drops of sweet heat sauce to each bite.
Perfection.
Introduced my Alabama born-and-bred, hot-and-spicy food-loving co-worker to the sandwich; he approves.
Popeyes for the win!

I normally stay away from Popeyes, but needed a quick lunch check today and I passed a Popeyes and thought about this thread, so I went through the drive thru and got just the sandwich, no sides.
It was great.

Got one from the Govn't location. It had some serious HEAT.
For sure it had more sauce on there and I can see the abundance of seasoning in the sauce. I had to drink all the water I had to combat the spiciness.
It was 3 in the afternoon, no one else was at the drive thru. Ordered, paid, and got my sandwich instantly.
A 5-star dining experience.
