Popeye's used to have some of the best fried livers...now I can't find one that still serves them.

It's not fair to compare Popeyes to Canes. Canes only has strips.

and they don't use seasoning....you are right, not a fair comparison.

The one at Magazine and Marengo is the best Popeye's I have ever eaten.

I grew up eating the Popeyes on Napoleon by Claiborne and now I get the stuff on Claiborne by Napoleon. I should try the one on Magazine I guess...

Popeyes for sure, but I'm disappointed they don't make the fresh onion rings any longer. Now they're prebattered and frozen.

Neither, they are both a rip off. I buy all my chicken at Brothers - the tenders are great, perfect spice and the chicken on the bone is way bigger - especially the breast - and the prices are so cheaper

This is true but we don't have Brothers in BR. I buy the 8 piece at Albertson's for $4.99. Much better in my opinion.

And the above mentioned Popeyes livers. They also fried gizzards which I would eat the hell out of but you can't find them anymore either.

Churches has liver and gizzards. Never had them there, however.

Church's has them.

But, they are usually stale as shite and the rest of their chicken is awful.

Sounds like most of you guys/gals prefer Popeyes!

You'd love the one in Laffy on Pinhook Rd. Daily, all you can eat BUFFET of chicken and sides. Talk about a Popeyes overload !

Live in BR and worked in Laffy a couple of weeks ago, had it for the first time and it was money. Hell, the staff was actually decent

Probably still on the 'throne' after gourging yourself on all that fried food? Right?

damn, didn't know that still existed.

They used to have one at the Tanger in Gonzales and i would tear it UP. But, they got rid of the buffet. The story is a woman slipped on a piece of chicken and tried to sue, but that might be bullshite.

It was like heaven...One of the best meals I have ever had for under 10 bucks. I would go to Laffy again just to eat there
