Good to hear. I've heard mixed reviews, so I haven't tried it yet. Maybe for the next special occasion. A good ribeye sounds pretty damn good right now.

Best steak I had in Bham was from that place that used to be at Oakwood Mall that is now a Zeas. They have one in Destin... I forget the name.

I've been twice. Once when it was Copper Grill and once when it was Plaza III. Both times we went it was with a group of 12-15 ppl. My dad set it up and he called a few days in advance. You kinda tell em what you're wanting and they'll give you a price range. Both times everybody thoroughly enjoyed it. It's pricey though. My dad picked up the checks, so I'm not positive about the price, but I believe it was around $2500. That included salads, steaks, drinks, and deserts for everyone. We also got 3 or so lobsters and split em.

I went a few times when it was Copper Grill. It was great then. Is Plaza III about the same?

Another good choice, especially if you like Greek style seafood. Nikki's West also has surprisingly good Greek style fish for a meat & 3 place. I guess it helps that most of the restaurants in Bham are owned by Greek families.

Not anymore.

For BBQ, drive northwest on Hwy 78 toward Jasper. Just before you enter Walker County, you will see a rectangular concrete block building with a green roof on your left, known as the Greentop.
Stop in and try their BBQ salad.

Hot n Hot Fish Club is amazing, but make sure it is what you're looking for. They pride themselves on a local and sustainable menu. When they run of food, they're out for the day. The menu changes daily. The restaurant is like what we need in Baton Rouge, but it isn't what everybody looks for/cares about. I love it though!

Leonardo's in Homewood (I think it's homewood) is the best Italian I've ever had in my life. Their rolls are amazing.

Is that on Rocky Ridge (Cahaba Heights area)? I haven't tried it. May have to give it a try whenever I decide to take a cheat day on this stupid diet. I'm always looking for a good Italian place, which the Bham area is somewhat lacking in.

Based on the crowd in the parking lot Cracker Barrel appears to be the restaurant of choice for diners in Birmingham.

Hot & Hot Fish Club- 2180 11th Court South, Birmingham

Ocean Restaurant- 1218 20th St S, Birmingham

Nabeel's Cafe-1706 Oxymoor Rd(Homewood)

Orginal Jim & Nick's in Southside

Gian Marco 721 Broadway St Homewood

Chez Fonfon-2007 11th Avenue South

Other ones to consider

Brio-Brookwood Village-Its a chain but a pretty good one. they don't have them in Louisiana

Cocina Superior-Brookwood Village-587 Brookwood Vlg-Upscale Superior similar to Cyclone's in Houston and Dallas.

Outside of the Cajun food, I feel the restaurants are better in Bham than Baton rouge.

Bham definitely has better upscale restaurants. My company has customers/suppliers from all over the country (and even international). When we take them out to Hot & Hot or Highlands, they are always shocked that these restaurants exist in Alabama.

I tried this place when it first opened and wasn't really impressed. I've heard several people rave about it recently, so I guess I need to give it another shot.

What is the favorite pizza place for the Bham folks in this thread.

For me, it's Dave's Pizza in Homewood, especially their weekday buffet.
