Nothing like a big piece of either of these icons. I was surprised to find out several years ago that Apple Pie isn't as popular selling as Cheery pie. I for one love a good Apple pie a la mode. Then on the other side, there isn't anything like classic cake and ice cream. Red velvet is always good. I wouldn't turn down a good cheesecake either.

Now with Thanksgiving coming up and how we seem to outdo ourselves I'm sure there will be lots of deserts. A big piece of pecan or pumpkin pie sounds pretty good too. What do you say?

I want to be obtuse and say Cobbler. Specifically peach cobbler. But I would definitely take a peach or apple pie over any cake.

Pie all day. Most cakes are too dry and icings too sugary

Only cake I prefer is carrot cake

Pie.

Not all that into cake. German chocolate is about the only cake I like.

I say the only dessert at Thanksgiving that I care for is pecan or sweet potato pie. The only two true thanksgiving options in my opinion.

I'm generally a pie over cake person.

I don’t like cake much at all. A well made buttermilk pie or pumpkin pie is outstanding.

And since you didn’t ask about sweet or savory, I’d take a savory pie over all of the above. The Louisiana Poulet Pie or the Tomato Pie at Elsie’s.

Holy hell, WTF is wrong with some of you people? These are the two worst cakes in the history of cakes.

Pie. I've never been a cake person with some exceptions. Cake must be tasty, moist with a good icing and lots of it.

I've had a few good fruitcakes. Warm the slices and top with fresh sweet whipped cream. Delicious.

Cake, by a little bit. But I like the Viennese nut tortes, the French opera cakes, and all the incredible variety of European patisserie, subspecies cake.

You can keep the boring American layers w buttercream.

Easily pie. Give me a good pecan pie or an icebox coconut creme pie any day of the week.
