Home espresso machines are like radio controlled cars vs the real thing.
Like all things, it varies greatly. Nespresso is not real espresso and espresso machines less than $400 are mostly junk but still capable of pulling a decent shot if you have a good grinder. The most important part of home espresso is the grinder and beans.

I have a Nespresso at home and Keurig at work. I work for the government, so no free coffee and the Keurig came from home after we got the Nespresso.
Nespresso is way better but definitely more expensive. The milk frother as jpainter said above works very well if you are looking for things like lattes.
Keurig is just find. It's mostly about finding a pod you like. Definitely more like a normal drip coffee machine, just makes one cup at a time.

Exactly my point. I’m willing to trade the convenience of Nespresso being a decent drink for 80% of morning caffeine needs vs spending a fortune for a home machine. And for the other 20% I’ll have a proper espresso pulled by the experts.

If you are just wanting a decent cup of coffee, get a French press and whatever kind of coffee you like. Run your tap water through a filter if needed.
We have a Nepresso machine and it makes a good cup, but it is expensive and the "cups" are tiny compared to my insulated mug. We almost always use the French press.
I've used Keurig machines before and tried several different pods. I just don't like the weak coffee that they produce.

The problem with a French press is having to wash it everyday. Plus you need a kettle for the hot water, so it’s not really an easier alternative.

Rinsing out the grounds is not that hard. Guess it depends on how much you want a better cup of coffee. An electric kettle is nice to have, but all you need is a pot. Most folks already have a pot.

Pods in general are gross.
I started drinking cowboy coffee at the deer camp this year and I don’t think I’m ever going back to anything else.

Visiting the in-laws who have a Keurig, I leaned that you can get a decent cup of coffee only if you dispense the smallest-size cup serving.
So it seems like you can get a Keurig and use two pods to fill your mug, or a Nespresso and use one doubly-expensive pod, and get similar results at about the same cost.
There's no magic to this. It's all just hot water passing through ground coffee beans.

Yes…but also no.

I'm talking Keurig vs Nespresso.
Not talking Keurig vs French press, cold brew, cowboy coffee, etc.

If you love the taste of coffee and not just the drug of caffeine? Nespresso.
Bit I’ll be the arse to say get a French press.

I have both.
I use the Keurig during the week for regular coffee.
I use the nespresso on weekends as sort of a treat

I find the French press to be a pain in the arse especially if you want multiple cups.
Make them wash. Make them wash. Make them wash.
I have a Nespresso, a Keurig, and pour over, 2 French presses and a drip with the insulated carafe. .
Weekends we use the drip. Sitting on the porch now, watching the rain come down. I don’t have to get up for the refills.
Weekday mornings we use the Keurig. We have the reusable pods and our own coffee. Grind it the night before and it’s ready to go.
I will often have a Nespresso for an afternoon cup. Or for an Espresso drink.
The complaints about weak coffee for the Keurig are odd to me. Like I said, we use our own coffee and it is plenty strong.
And when we use pods I use Green Mountain Dark Magic and it is quite strong.

Got my daughter one with milk frother for Christmas and she loves it. Saves her money bc no more Starbucks or the $$ cold brew she was buying weekly at grocery. She got a lot of free coffee with my order, and has purchased syrup.

So you're saying that coffee from a Keurig with the small cup size setting isn't as good as the normal cup size with a Nespresso?
That's interesting to hear.
The in-laws had Independence Jet Fuel K-cups, and with a small cup size on the Keurig I thought that stuff was unusually good.

The Nespresso vertuo makes a better cup and has versatility.
