When I was working at the royal orleans back in the day I took a group of clients there and we had maybe the best meal of my life...it was that good. sorry to hear that things have changed, I've not been there in years

it's has always been loud, but for the service to be unresponsive and the food mediocre is not good news

next time you are out try mopho, I'm addicted to that place

Napoleon,

I dont know you, but I like your attitude on life. Next time, listen to Scalia's dissent

To be fair, when someone posted the coolinary menus last week, 5-6 people raved about the PC

I went once a few years back and I don't think I would choose to back. The actual restaurant is nice but the food was mediocre for what you pay.

I went Saturday night and had a decent time. The whole Quarter was rowdy after the Red Dress Whatever. PC was louder than I would prefer but not nearly as bad as you described.

My wife got the Coolinary menu with Oysters and fish with crab. I got the 4 course meal with Gumbo, Oysters, Lamb and Pecan Pie. I haven't had lamb in forever and wanted the oysters and a cup of gumbo. I thought it was really good. The oysters were pretty good, the gumbo was fine and the lamb was great.

Our waiter recommended to order wine by the glass versus the pairings. $1.50 per glass for better wine according to him. Worked out fine as we got 2 drinks each (spent an hour at the Carousel Bar before dinner).

It was different and I enjoyed the food, but I agree that for the same money there are other choices that are just as good. I would like to see how this place is during normal times. If someone else is heading there I would say wear whatever you want. I had dress slacks and a button down shirt while wife had a simple black dress and we were overdressed compared to the crowd.
