The blandest TexMex I've ever had, this has to be right off the Sysco truck. If you have a 4 y/o who can't handle spice, this is your place, dreadful.

Since this is a new place, what did you order?

The complimentary chips were thick, not thin and crispy as house made chips are, the salsa had no distinctive flavor, could be mild Pace's right out of the jar. I ordered a combo plate of a beef enchilada, a beef taco and a tamale, all were barely over room temp, all were flavorless. My wife got the shrimp tacos, they came with torilla soup and a salad. She ate one taco, then just ate the shrimp out of the others. She said the soup was OK, but the salad was nothing special, it came with bottled 1000 island and ranch dressing.
The Dos Equis was nice and cold. BTW, all the tacos said they came with guacamole and sour cream, they did not.
I wish I had gone to Mestizo's.

And what did the waiter say when you told him the food was cold and you were missing your sides?

She, a nice young lady, said "I just started working here, do you want me to get the manager?" No, that's OK.
If someone would please point out a TexMex place in BR that has spicy, authentic dishes, I'd love to give them a try.

I had pretty high hopes for this place. They were billing it as a higher-end more traditional Mexican restaurant. Hopefully they are working out the kinks of a newly opened restaurant.

El Rio Grande on airline near Florida

This place is exactly the same as El Paso. Same owners, even some of the same staff I noticed. However, I liked El Paso and thought Pedro’s was just ok. Not enough for me to never go back but I chalked it up to being new. Sucks that it hasn’t gotten any better. That being said, where are you getting TexMex in Baton Rouge that has spice? Anything with real spice is going to be authentic.

Lol. You mean to tell me that a restaurant gets its supply from a restaurant supply company? Shocking!

FYI, there’s a hidden gem Mexican restaurant on Siegen. The Mexican grocery store next to CiCis (by Total Wine) has a restaurant in the back. Walk in the store, walk to the back.

Its interesting, I checked out their website and it reminded me of the mexican place in Juban Crossing of the same name.
The siegan location is the only one listed yet the menus are identical with exception to the prices (siegan is around a dollar more on everything).
Found that odd.
I wasn't impressed with the juban location either.

Sounds like La Hacienda here in Lafayette.

Something tells me you wouldn’t like this either.
