Now Paul. Have I ever jimmied you?
And I'll try Pats but it is going to be tough. Think they got suckered in by Mama Della.

Martini, were you the one talking about eating fresh stuff from your garden as you are walking through? Or am I confusing you with someone else?

Anyone know what's being built across from portobellos on Jefferson and old Hammond, in what use to be another broken egg?

A Mexican restaurant. Don't recall the name, think they might be out of Lafayette. Not sure though.

Mexican restaurant. Velvet cactus maybe? It's the same people that own the Bulldog.

Oh dear god. This place is so terrible. They'd be idiots to try to expand.

JP Roots, Velvet Cactus chef in New Orleans, will own a piece of the Baton Rouge restaurant, Dyer says, and will ensure that the food is fresh and identical at both locations.
Sweet Jesus. He should try to make the food at one location better before they try to open another one.
eta: That location is TERRIBLE. Good luck to them.

Success Prediction
Pat's Seafood: No. As mentioned above, it's unlikely it will standout in any significant way. But I hope I'm wrong.
Stabiler's new joint (concept unknown) at 7666 Jefferson Highway, which is located just across the street from Bocage Village: Yes, if you consider years and years of trying to recoup your investment a success. Limited parking spaces will limit sales. He best be counting on lots of catering.
Velvet Cactus: Yes. Because of the awesome atmosphere and lots of booze. The food is secondary and it will be good enough; it will serve its purpose.

Rum House has this locked up.
People don't tend to go hangout in the bocage area after dark. Most people won't even know this is there with Towne Center all bright and shiny on the corner.

Velvet Cactus will do well, Jefferson/Old Hammond has never had a quality Mex or Tex-Mex place or margarita joint.
There are more young folks in that corridor, and/or ones willing to stay up a bit, than many think..they just tend to drive to College Dr/Bennington, Perkins/Overpass, Chimes East, Superior, Radio Bar, etc..
Pat's(which I loved in Henderson back-in-the-day) will need to do a strong lunch biz like Las Palmas did, regardless of how good the fare is. I just don't really trust that location at night as much as say La Lagniappe's..but hey if they bring the goods..who knows?

I think they all are just getting suckered in by Panera Bread. Probably a big boom.

this is Pat's of Henderson/LC, or a totally different Pat's?
Has there been an answer to this yet?
