I would grab a pizza/calzone at Rotolos then head to the bulldog for the day. But I'm stuck in a classroom/office until 10.

Never eaten the food, but I've heard good and bad things about it. But, their patio is quite nice and when I was sitting out there I thought about how perfect it would be when the weather got better

Beausoleil just added more tables to their patio area.

We only get a small opportunity to eat outside!

? Really. I think Fall and spring are the longest seasons of the year in S LA and are usually great for eating outside.

All the patios in BR suck because they all look out into a parking lot or major thoroughfare of traffic. That being said, when I want patio seating, the Bulldog has a good one, The Chimes East, Portico, Zippy's, Chelsea's, The Londoner, Superior Grill, and Bistro Byronz all have them.

Not in Perkins Rowe, Bistro Byronz is fenced in, Chelsea's doesn't and Parrains is pretty close to seclusion. I personally don't care if they are over looking roads. Majority of restaurant patios in urban settings have the same problem. Can't just plop a lake in the middle of BR these days.

We went there a while back. Thought it was pretty good bar food. Good onion rings. Decent beer selection.
Dunno if it fits the description, but Tsunami.

Actually, there's already a quite nice one smack dab in the middle of town.

The NIMBY's on Stanford Ave. wouldn't allow a restaurant to be built on a former commercial lot that would have probably been the nicest setting in town for a restaurant, though.

According to stormwater ordinances you are pretty much required to put a pond on your property to account for increased runoff (Assuming you don't handle the stormwater through some other sort of best management practice). Problem is DPW doesn't give two shits. They approve plans without any sort of stormwater mitigation all the time.

As for patios, I always enjoyed Chelsea's back patio. Front patio is fine as well, but a little more trafficked.

Well yeah. Besides the one that won't allow commercial development on it. Really could have made a great restaurant right there.

A big cheezy looking condo development just sails through planning board approval, but heaven forbid anyone consider putting a legitimately nice sit down restaurant in a legitimately nice sort of neighborhood setting that's not in a freaking prefab strip mall in Baton Rouge.

Sad.
