Is this real....sounds like fake news to me.

Discussions I had with a legit insider last night revealed that Andrew apparently has his eye on a building near Sienna Plantation, a bit Southwest of Houston proper.

You can’t walk into a brewery and buy a 6 pack in Texas. It’s dumb as hell.

He's technically correct. In Texas, those with brewpub licenses can sell beer to go. But those with brewery licenses can not.

No, he isn’t.

I can walk into a lot of breweries in Texas and buy 4/6 packs. I do it regularly.

Yes he is right. There's no debating this. It's entirely dependent on the type of license they have. Go try to buy to go beer from Saint Arnold and let me know what happens.

Texas beer producers with manufacturing licenses are not currently allowed to sell to-go beer to visitors, despite the fact that the state’s brewpubs, as well as wineries and distilleries with similar manufacturing permits, are allowed to sell their products for off-premise consumption.

A brewpub license is required to to-go sales, and with brewpub status, the brewery can't produce over 10,000 bbl/year; seems like a lot but it prevents a lot of breweries from expanding.

You can't go into Saint Arnold or Spotzel and get beer to go

I’m aware of the law.

His blanket statement is still incorrect. Breweries like turning point up here or spindletap, b52, etc in houston have the BP license and sell from their breweries.

He cannot say “breweries in Texas can’t sell from the brewery” and be correct as a blanket statement. And you cannot apply your own argument to what he said to try to twist it into the truth.

You can just go to any store.

Look, I know the law and know it’s stupid. But the blanket statement “you can’t buy beer at breweries in Texas” is false.

You can buy to go beer from brewpubs, not breweries. The law is pretty clear here. Stupid wording? Sure. Stupid law. Yes. But you're coming with this blanket statement that every place in Texas that produces beer can sell to go beer, when that is most definitely false.

Edit: I'm not trying to be argumentative here. Just pointing out stupid laws and the fact that there are a bunch of breweries (manufacturer's permit) in Texas that can't sell to go beer.

I did not at all. I simply responded to a blanket statement that breweries in Texas can’t sell at the brewery. Go back and read my posts again. Never did I say all. I said specifically “a lot of breweries.”

I just figured Sienna would be a nice area for Andy to relocate his headquarters. I don’t think Needville would quite have the aminities he wants for his business.
