Not sure how legit this is, but saw this tweet yesterday from someone named Andrew Schwab. Not sure who this is, but would be great news if true! Nothing is posted on Parish's official twitter.

That website format is atrocious. I hate when sites have banners than you can’t scroll past.

Hopefully that means he has connections at the TABC and got the news from someone there.

Andrew is planning to relocate his headquarters to Houston. John Bel Edwards’s policies are forcing him out.

Andrew is well connected in the Texas brewing scene.

And yes it is happening. I talked to a Houston distributor last week and Parish will be here soon (within the month).

I'm not sure what beers will be here (I assume all the Florida beers) but I'm hoping Ghost will arrive fresh.

Texas is an equally, if not shittier, state for breweries.

Why is it worse?

I assume you are referring to the fact that breweries can't sell packaged beer at the brewery. But is there any other reason?

My hope is that this changes. It seems that many are fighting this law.

Making matters a lot worse, in 2017, persuaded by beer wholesalers, the Legislature enacted HB 3287. This legislation created a new dimension of absurdity: In the case of the most logical investments and mergers, it restricted or penalized the flow of capital from one brewery to another. It had the real effect of devaluing Texas' small, independent craft breweries the day it became law.

Under the most ludicrous provision of the law, certain breweries could be required to pay a distributor for the right to sell their own beer in their own tap room. No value-added service here — it's just mandated payment to a third-party for doing nothing.

And I'm not saying Louisiana is some great place to be a brewery - it's not, ATC is fricking retarded. What I'm saying is, Texas is nearly as dumb with regards to fricking with breweries

Now Texans don’t have to travel when they overpay for the same beer repackaged under different names over and over again.
