Oyster La Louisianne from Louie and the Red Haired Lady, it has to be one of the best ways of eating Oyster I have ever had. It's fried oyster, put into the oyster shell, topped with garlic butter, and then parmesean cheese is melted on to it.

I was in Mandeville tonight and missed my dinner date at Cowbell, so decided to knock another DDD restaurant off of my list. I'll admit though there menu is not thrilling, and the first thing I ordered they didn't want to make because I was there right before close.

But I was satisfied with my oysters. Something I rarely ever order. But this has to be my favorite preparation of Oyster, I have ever had.

Not going to lie, it actually looks like shite in the picture but it is probably pretty good.

Looks pretty darn good to me. Made me think of the oysters at Uglesich's fried with the blue cheese sauce over them. The fried oysters on the half shell at Mr. B's are very good also.

Looks good in the full size picture, it's just cheese on fried oysters in a shell. Now I'm sure the oysters were not fresh shucked, and they probably re-use the shells.

But I try not to think about that. The oysters were huge and very flavorful, and oysters may be my least favorite local seafood, but these were really good.

ooops. yeah. Louie and the Red Haired Lady.

I was hoping for more choices on the menu. I went there 15 minutes before close, as I happened to be in Mandeville. I was supposed to meet some friends uptown for lunch but couldn't make it. So I decided to try this place out.

I got hooked up too, because the cook couldn't make the first thing I ordered so I got a free salad and crabcake. My total bill was only $12, so I gave a $20 and let the young (teenage?) server keep the change.

Did they have the episode of DDD playing the entire time on the TVs?
Out of all the DDD places I've been this one seems to promote the hell out of being on that's show 100x more than anybody else.

Both, but not at the same time. Had the fried oysters with Brie and spinach at Clancys a couple of weeks ago...yum.

Damn, I don't know if I could get over the fact that the keep using the same oyster shells to serve them.

I don't know if they get hot enough when they melt the cheese to kill the germs from the previous order.

No, they had Food Network on the TV though. I have seen almost every place that was on DDD (except the Joint) really bask in Guy Fieri. The Sink in Boulder has a seven foot tall Fieri mural (great place to eat, BTW), Sammy's on Eleysian Fields sells "Guy ate here" shirts, and along with Katie's mid-city lists the items Guy ate with the DDD logo. The Coffee Pot, also has shirts and pictures of DDD.

Being on that show has to be good for business, but with Louie and the Red Haired lady I was underwhelmed with the available options, but enjoyed the oysters.

Going to try two new places today too, just haven't decided which ones yet.
