It is a bit pricey. We had 2 12 inch pizzas with 3 toppings each, and a large ceaser salad. The price was $44 with tax.

With that said, I'll keep paying because it is the best pizza I have had in BR by a long shot. The crust is freaking delicious, and the sauce has a good kick to it.

When I want a good pizza, I will go there. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Not even close to true. Slice and a salad/soup for $7.99

Everyday they have cheese or peperoni, and they rotate their specialty slice.

For the quality and variety, I will probably try the pizza again. We got the $16 size and it was plenty for two. The ice cream was also good and $6.50 for two scoops is not that far off of what you would pay at a place like marble slab. I thought the appetizers were way too expensive though. I got the mushrooms for $13, there were four, and they were only so-so.

I hope they do well. I will probably come back for the pizza and skip the extras.

It may be. I don't know, never eaten there, but will certainly be opened minded and give it a try. However, pricing, which has been the topic of several threads, appears to be a concern for 8 out of 10 posters here.

I finally went. And what the guy who works there says is true.

The pizza is awesome and worth the Price.

I will be back.

I agree with this partly....some were very high, some were reasonable. Was a Wide spectrum of Prices for the Apps.

If you go to mellow its 2 slices with one topping for $8

At Oscars, its a slice (with duck, andouille, and a roux base) and a Caesar salad for $8.

I really hate their prices.

I heard through the Grapevine that the guys who own this joint own the property as well. They also lease out the building Maxwells is in to Maxwells, and lease Fleet Feet to Fleet Feet. I think the owners Dad actually owns the whole property, and this restaurant is just something the sons have always talked about doing and is just lagnaippe for them. This may be the reason it took so long to open...they were on no time crunch?

With that being said.....these guys can charge whatever prices they want, if people dont pay it, and they dont make it, its no skin off their arse, theyll just lease the property out to someone else.

But, if people do pay...they'll make a killing. And judging by the quality of the pizza....people will pay and these guys are gonna make a killing.

I agree that the pizza is very good (in my top 3 in BR), but they are not going to make killing because the place is dead at lunch, empties out early, have zero late night drunk traffic, their ice cream tastes like rubber, they don't deliver and they cost too much.

It is a damn shame.

I can also go to Parrains and get a house salad and their pasta special with shrimp for $8. Their are a thousand different places I would rather eat lunch at for $8 before I go to Oscar's and get 1 slice of pizza, which probably won't even fill me up.

Bombay, what is your connection to this place? You sure seem to know a lot about it...

So, one item constitutes a lunch menu. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I work near there and was considering trying it out for lunch, but it sounds like it is overpriced for lunch.

It also annoys me that they don't put their prices with the menu on their website. That's usually a sign that a place is overpriced.

Yea, I have no qualms spending $15-$22 for a good pizza with a lot of variety. But I may skip on the $13 stuffed mushrooms.

They will also have a hard time in the evening since this part of town is dead at that time.
Who knows...they could get a lot of business from all the clinics/doctor offices/OLOL hospital that is nearby. I think the old Charlie's Coffee on Highland next to the Neighborhood Walmart would have been ideal...larger space to accommodate more people and near campus where you are going to have a lot of drunk students looking for pizza at night.

Yeah, I do not see what the fuss is about. Order a large specialty pizza from any of the delivery companies and it is going to cost you $20. I don't mind the extra couple of bucks for some good ingredients. 3 of us ate a large D&A gumbo pizza for $8/each. Not bad if you ask me

Its a pizza place, ordering by the slice is a lunch menu.

Mellow - lunch menu is slices, or stuff thats normally on the menu

Rotollos - Lunch menu is a small shitty calzone or stuff that's on the menu

Oscars - Lunch menu is a slice and salad plus everything else thats on the menu

Fail--they do half sandwiches, calzones, etc for lunch

Not a bad calzone
