Then how come I can still get a WHOLE fried chicken at Wal Mart or Albertsons or any grocery store for $4.99?
Albertson's $4.99 8-pieces are never a bad idea when feeding a handful of people. Sometimes they have an even cheaper 8-piece all dark meat deal, but I'm a fan of the breasts.
That said, I'm sure I'll still hit up Cane's about once a month.

after how many years of it proving successful?
Point still is that most of the time price doesn't make people buy something

When I was at LSU, the 4 piece combo was $5 even.
Actually, I think it was a 5 piece combo back then
In the late 90's it was $4.25 for a five finger box, and $6.15 for a seven finger Caniac.
They have increased a lot, and the fingers and sauces sizes got smaller Also the crushed ice with three ounces of drink pisses me off..
But in perspective, gas was about $1 a gallon back then.

ALL fast food has gone up and quantity has gone down.I rarely get it anymore, much cheaper to make yourself

Wait, every time I've been to Cane's, I've filled my own drink. Too much ice in it, then dump some out.
If you're getting the lemonade, tell them easy ice. It's not that difficult.
I'm no Cane's apologist (eat there maybe 3 times a year), but I think it's great to see a place started just off campus here in BR grow to what they've become. Good for them. If they were doing it wrong, they wouldn't be opening up stores nationwide.

Don't forget the yummy crinkle cut fries, sauce and bread.

Value or perceived value is one of the factors in a person's buying decision.
And it's getting harder and harder to find any value in 3 chicken tenders, fries, bread and a drink for $7.25.

What does a bucket cost at KFC or similar at Popeyes or Churches?
Posted on 11/30/11 at 10:47 am to CITWTT
3 pc tender at popeyes is $.75 less minus a cole slaw and with smaller tenders

You got some bad tenders. Id say the majority of the time their chicken is bigger and juicier than canes. I still prefer Cane's though.
This. Popeyes tenders >>>>> Canes Tenders.
And they aren't too stuck up to have BBQ sauce.

ones I got (burbank location) were thin and dried out. The dryness could be a location issue, but the size isn't. After I had them I said, cane's price is well worth it. Maybe I had a bad batch, but I felt hosed.

Maybe, I've grown to like it in the past years, but the fact is that they give you an extra side item that you can put towards and extra toast, fries, tender, sauce, or take it off and save a little money.

It just irks me that a place that specializes in chicken tenders doesn't have a BBQ sauce.
It's my own issue.

alot of people feel that way, but they became what they are because of their sauce.
I have my own issues as well. I rarely eat there, but hate all the one sided bashing it gets for passing their increased prices onto the customer. They can't eat it themselves (pun).

We pay 1.68 a pound for raw tenders.Figure about 2 oz a tender. We charge 7.25 for 4 tenders with ff and coleslaw. Costs in the restaurant biz have gone up alot over the last few years. Our fry oil has doubled from 15 bucks a box to 30.We spent 22,000 on fry oil alone last year.So cains isnt too out of line.
