Is the New Orleans superior really that bad?
It really is that bad. I could live on tex-mex and traditional Mexican food.... I lived 4 years 3 blocks away on Peniston St and ate there twice- neither by choice (typically because friends from out of town / BR wanted to eat there...) New Orleans just does not have the best Tex-mex / Mexican food scene. La Casita was promising until they expanded to Oak St and discontinued their homemade chips & tortillas. Quality went down quickly.

Oh they probably don't have much money. Although they have (or had back when I hatched my plan) video poker machines. Which means they would keep a certain amount of cash on hand to pay those out. But it isn't really the money, just the easiness of it. You got to remember I'm not a criminal and have zero experience in armed robbery or larceny of any kind. Blue haireds. The place is crawling with them. Both on the staff and vast majority of the patrons. I think I could handle several of them if they happened to get the jump on me. Which they wouldn't. I give myself a 95% chance of getting out the door with the loot. Then I'm essentially home free. Because of the main reason I pick South of the Border for my first heist. The location. Middle of nowhere, heavily wooded area on a state line. Which of course means 2 conflicting law enforcement agencies. They won't know where I went. I'll drop context clues while robbing the blue hairs that lead them to tell the cops I'm heading south to New Iberia or some such. Meanwhile I ease North up toward Missouri or Kansas to find my next target. Assuming I'm able to get past Illusions in Woodville without the $387 I stole burning a hole in my pocket. That could potentially be my downfall.

That sucks. Superior in Shreveport is the tits.
Mexican and Tex mex is my favorite cuisine and I'd hate to be without it.

I was a busboy/runner there for my first job in high school. I guess that was back in 99

Pelican House just rebranded there as a family friendly sit down restaurant. No way a place that big seats enough people over time to make a go of it. Sounds like the rent in that area is pushing certain chains and market segments out of the ability to do business there.
Which is weird considering the horrible element they have there with Spinosa's movie theater/urban late-night daycare for Tweens.

Are you referring to Movie Tavern?

It's a sad state of affairs for Tex-Mex in south Louisiana when people are mourning the closing of On the Border

The one in Shreveport started out okay but went to shite.
Group of 8 went in on a weeknight, and there were fewer than 10 other customers. Food still took forever to come out, and then it was stone cold.
I didn't want to say anything and drag it out more, but one person asked if anyone else had cold food. Everyone did. We were scared it would never come back from the kitchen if returned, so we asked for a microwave and extension cord. They wouldn't do it.
Closed down within a year after.

Youree drive in front of Kroger. The location wasn't the issue. The place now, el potrillo is pretty good.

I know I'm in the minority, but I actually liked it.
