Bobby Meadows or something ?

If you are talking about the one at Florida and Little John it was Bobby Meador. He also was a pro bass fisherman and had a local fishing show for a long time. I went to school with his son Randy. Not to be confused with the Meadors that were swimmers.

Jack Sabin's was the only place in BR that had dry aged steaks and when I was a kid we had to wear a coat and tie.

The Village was Ms Fanny's home cooking and the new one doesn't even compare even though it is pretty good. It was her recipes and she was in the kitchen every night. THAT made the difference.

I remember:

Wesley's chopped beef next to Broadmoor Theater. Used to get my hair cut next door.

Lumm's Hot Dogs

Shakey's Pizza

Pizza Hut on Jefferson which is now Vic's.

The original Dearman's.

Shipley's and Dunkin Donuts

Joey's way out Florida

Burger Chef at Plank and Airline in front of the Woolco

Giamanco's which was a great Italian and seafood place on Govt next to Lettermans and the building is gone.

The Kiawanis pancake breakfast at the KC Hall on Florida which was torn down for the Federal Courthouse.

Piccadilly on Third Street then growing up eating at the one in Westmoreland

Cotton Club

Bar at the top of the Republic Tower on Florida Street.

Fleur De Lis when it was smoke filled and Junior ran the joint. Pinball machines that tilted.

Piccadilly at Bon Marche' as well as the McDonald's inside it.

Chelsea's at Cortana.

What was the chinese guys joint out Florida then moved to Corporate Square. Had the zombies you could only order two and we were about 13 ordering them.

Saturday's at Corporate

Poet's at Village Square

The Factory at Village Square

The old Mike Andersons at the south gates of LSU on Highland Road. An old arse two story house with the best oyster loafs ever. It was never the same.

Boiled crawfish at Camp Bayou Corne with the "old beach comber."

My husband proposed to me at Drakes - that place was excellent - do you remember the ceasar salad with fried eggplant croutons? I have never seen fried eggplant croutons anywhere else.
