Just got from Munich last week. I’d have to say this was my favorite.
And another favorite!

I enjoyed it. It's a rowdy tent, tons of folks in there and it's a good time. Hoffbrau and Lowenbrau are on par with each other.

mainly meant the beer not the fest itself

Sorry, my last sentence was on the beer, not the tents.

whats the thought on Hoffbrau's?
I love Hofbrau's. It is a great one, I just think there are better as far as the German ones go, but not by much. I just don't think it necessarily stands out in any way compared to some others, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing either.

Jealous! I did a trip to Munich in 2019. What a great city.

Came back to say this was excellent
(ETA: Also I think they did Bitburger after, not sure why they wanted to collaborate with schießbier)

This was my 7th time going. So much fun! The weather wasn’t as good as my previous visits (40 degrees and rainy), but still a lot of fun.

Avery Kaiser is an Imperial and worth trying.

Beautiful city. The whole countryside of Bavaria is beautiful.
I did Oktoberfest in 1994 (pre-Euro). 10 Deutschmarks bought you a big stein/mug of beer (at the time was equivalent to 6-7 American dollars) -- wow, what a deal.
Those mugs are very strong, and will survive alot of hard clinking/toasting with the rowdy Australian and New Zealand blokes in attendance.

Yea, when I went a few years back, the beer gardens were just phenomenal. I think the Augustiner-Keller one was my favorite, just how secluded it was. Just a really great atmosphere.
However, the sheer size of the Hirschgarten was pretty insane.
