Inspired by the Tupelo thread...heading to OKC for the week next week and interested in any recommendations other than Gumbo. Am staying downtown and will ideally have dinner close by.

Teds Cafe Escondido is easily the best tex-mex in the area. Not downtown, but not too far away.

Teds Cafe Escondido
My favorite place to eat.
Fajita beef Quesadilla
side of potatoes and cream corn.
when they bring out the chips and salsa tell them you want some Atomic salsa as well.
OKC eating places
Micky Mantels steak house is good but kind of pricey.
I haven't ate there but Vast is on the 52nd floor if you want to eat with a good view.

Met up with some business people who picked Mickey Mantle’s steakhouse. Had low expectations going in, and figured it might be a tourist trap kinda place banking on an athletes name more than anything. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was- honestly one of the best restaurant steaks I’ve eaten.
