I have a 75 gallon freshwater community tank with live plants. I used to run CO2, but my setup for that has been down for almost a year. I have multiple different type of tetras and an angelfish in the tank. Have a few snails in there as well. I change 50% of the water once a week and only feed 2-3 times a week. Takes about 30min to change the water. No other maintenence needed and very relaxing to look at. Add fish slowly and allow your tank to adjust for a couple of weeks before adding more. This keeps from crashing your nitrogen cycle and killing your fish. I find it a relaxing hobby. Initial investment can be a couple hundred to a thousand dollars depending on your setup, but invest in good filter and lights initially and after that care is easy.

re: Termite Bait Stations (Sentricon) vs Chemical Treatment
Posted by LSUNick on 8/7/25 at 8:32 pm to prestigeworldwide
That is why in my first response I asked if it was an active infestation. If active, I would definitely go with the liquid treatment to kill the termites as fast as possible. If there is no active infestation, I think the sentricon bait traps are a good choice. I get it that it is not a 100% guarantee, but it is a cheaper alternative than the liquid treatment unless you do it yourself. Plus most companies want to do the liquid and the sentricon bait so the cost adds up.
J&J quote was $200 first payment then $109/month for the first year. After the 1st year $25/month until we decide to end the contract. The first year payment covers initial inspection and installation of bait traps. After that it covers inspections and checking/replacing bait traps with no contract. Can cancel at anytime if needed.
Active infestation or just preventative?
It has been almost 10 years since I had Orkin trench and treat with liquid for an active infestation. It got rid of the active termites quickly with very little damage to home.Of course they also put out bait stations every 10ft for future preventative measures. They just came and did my yearly inspection and told me it was time to retrench even though I have no active termite activity.
I got some quotes and ended up dropping Orkin and going with J&J exterminating for bait traps only, no trenching for less than Orkin was charging for bait traps. J&J said that without active termite activity they do not recommend trenching and have not seen any issues with their clients that do this.
After watching a few you tube videos by Guys Pest Solutions i am also treating with Bioadvanced termite killer granules around the perimeter of the house instead of trenching and liquid treatment.
All this is being done in the next couple of days, so I hope it works out for me.

Sumitomo Encounter A/T. Have these on my son's ranger and they are great. FYI Sumitomo makes falken. Nearly identical to the wildpeak.
Wish me luck. Can never have too much LSU merch.
Got it fixed. I was testing without the drum and belt attatched. Didn't realizre that the motor idler pulley had a switch to turn it off when the belt breaks. Turns out all I need is a new bet and it will work again. Even though you did not direclty help me fix the problem, it was when I went to test the motor that I realized the issue. Thanks everyone for their suggstions and help. Hope to get another 25 years out of it.
I am happy that it lasted that long, but I know most of the time these can be fixed pretty easily and for just a little money for parts. I was hoping Napoleon would respond soon with an easy fix. I hear you though. May be time for a new one.
Kenmore gas dryer motor not running
Posted by LSUNick on 5/25/25 at 11:18 am
I have an approx 25y/o kenmore gas dryer. Model # 110.73932101 Dryer was running and suddenly stopped before the end of cycle. Now when start button is pushed I can ahear a clicking sound, but nothing happens/dryer won't run. Have tested the timer, thermal fuse, door start switch, and motor. All have proper continuity. What do I check next?

The older the berry, the sweeter the juice. Or something like that. It would probably take a few pitchers of beer before I went that far though.

Stremio and real-debrid
Posted by LSUNick on 2/2/25 at 9:06 pm
I have been using real-debrid with stremio for about 6mo now. Started getting error messages when trying to watch movies and realized my real-debrid expired. I paid for another 180 day subscritption and now real debrid won't work on my fire tv. Works great on my PC. Any tips to get it back working again on my fire tv? I have already tried deleting torrentio and reinstalling with new api key and syncing add ons on fire tv with no success.
IWWI - early Christmas gift to myself hopefully
re: Anybody Here Been In a Bowling League?
Posted by LSUNick on 4/9/24 at 9:53 pm to SaintlyTiger88
If you are considering a league, now is the time to join. Most alleys have a short 8-12 week summer league about to start. As mentioned earlier, the scores are handicapped in most leagues. In order to help your team, you just have to improve and score above your initial average throughout the league. Usually a lot of cool people at the alleys I've been to, but sometimes you have a few that take the game too serious.

If your just looking to get rid of it, Pull-a-part is the way to go and get a couple hundred for it. For what it is worth, I sold a 2005 F-150 with major front end damage for $3500 in les than a week using facebook marketplace and craigslist. Might be worth looking into.

I grew up in OKC and now want Mazzios and Braums ice cream. They were pretty much right next door to each other and we went on Sunday nights as a family for a treat. Definitely remember the BC Clark commercial too. Good times as a teenager. Thanks for the memory.
This was my first time to Omaha. I left with my dad and my son on Thursday after working all Wed. night. Drove most of the way there and watched the Wake game on the road. We never gave up hope and kept driving, just knowing our Tigers would advance to the finals. Ran into my boy jghunt at roccos and hung out with him through the weekend. Unbeknownst to me, my dog got out on Saturday night and did not return. We watched all 3 games and on the drive home we were all amazed by the title, but a little saddened by the loss of our best friend and pup. Well, we found our dog today and can now fully enjoy the wonder of watching LSU win a Natty in person. All in all one of the most emotion filled weekends of my life. So glad to spend it with my dad, son, and one of my good friends.
