do you have a highchair and which of the daily specials is your favorite?

Just went out and got me 2 highchairs. Still have to get some booster seats.

So far we have only done the specials 3 days. We started them on wednesday. Of the ones we did this is my reviews:

Wednesday: Roast, rice and gravy- Very good (homemade roast that is slow cooked with brown gravy)
Thursday: Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes- Descent/Good
Friday: Jambalaya & Fried Catfish or Fried Chicken Wings, corn, and a small desert- Good to Very good

Now that is just my opinions so not sure what everyone else will think. I know we have some hard critics on jambalaya in Baton Rouge.

Jason, nice talking to you today. Shrimp and catfish poboys were great. Onion rings were some of the best I have ever had. I will be back

I'm pretty sure I can get some cherrystone clams if I know a few days or even a week in advance of when you need them.

we came by today too (sorry if the kids were too loud...they needed a nap )

i really enjoyed my jambalaya. i've never had the sausage cut up like that, and i think i really like it better. the shrimp in there were great, and the rice was perfect. great seasoning.
the catfish had a wonderful flavor, but they were kind of cold and the batter was a bit soggy..
my kids ate my bread but it would have been too many carbs anyway ;) ever thought of just a cheap salad to put in there?
i loved the yellow cake.

your place has lots of character and we'll be coming back. (if thats ok the kids are usually much better behaved). my dad really liked it and he works down the street so he was excited to find a new place.

good luck!

I didn't know that was you. I brought your meal out to your table actually. And the kids seemed fine to me. Kids don't bother us at all. I come from a huge family with tons of kids.

Thanks, glad you liked it. Yes we did think of that. If you ever come again, just ask and we can definitely put a salad in the plate lunch instead of the bread.

Thanks, we put a lot of work into our decorations and set up and we have been around the block when it comes to seafood and being on the water. We hope to expand and have more seating and add to our decorations also in a few months. Maybe add another 20-30 tables and build something with either a patio or build on to the existing building. And thanks again for the business.

Picked up some medium shrimp and a handful of the U10 scallops. Both were great. They were the best tasting shrimp I've had in this city. The prices were fantastic. 5 U10 scallops + 1.5lbs of Medium shrimp + a large loaf of french bread all for about $13. I'll be a regular for sure!

No problem, we will have them. If you want you can call 2-3 days in advance if you want to reserve them. We also offer better prices if customers want to buy by the bushel (40# bushel).

Jason,
The roast beef poboy and onion rings were great. Has anyone elsementioned shredding the roast beef instead of slicing it?

Glad you liked it. We thought about it and actually at the beginning it was shredded but we changed it to sliced. No one has really said anything since we've had it sliced. You like it shredded better? It's hard to get good feedback from customers in a restaurant and that's why I ask.
