Love Tom. His arrogance makes it even better when he displays his ignorance. A couple of weeks ago he was interviewing a guest and it became apparent that Tom has never heard of kombucha. Bro, it's 2017 and your living is being knowledgeable about food and beverage.

That was awesome. He literally had no clue. He discovered IPA beer like 3 years ago.

Wait ... he never heard of kombucha?

He's always seemed overly subjective. Regardless of the popularity of a dish in New Orleans, if he personally doesn't like it, then there's nothing to discuss ... even if there may be a story there. Ex: Yakamein, or Mandarin Chicken.

Seems to apply the same logic to whether he keeps up with the latest food and beverage trends. If he personally doesn't care for it, then he doesn't bother ... so what if that's his job? He's stuck in the past.

Marcellos was not doing well.

This has to be correct. Otherwise, why would they give up a lease in a prime location?

Marcello's was doing fine, but they didn't own the building or land. A better deal came along...it's business.

According to the sauce over a glass of wine I was told the combination of very high rent and Metry peeps not spending as much as others do at the NO location did not make the numbers work.

I'm still pissed they closed. I really enjoyed their food and of course their wine selection/prices were fantastic.

Not sure if anyone else notices, but Tom's memory seems to be worsening daily. He really forgets almost everything he's about to say or said less than 10 minutes ago.

I haven't heard him a lot, but I have to agree. I wonder if he'll make it to his 30th anniversary.
