NOLA Weekend trip recommendations

I havn't been to the city in nearly 15years and taking someone who's never been. I know the staples of the city but not sure of the current must go to restaurant and bars (some will be touristy).
Have Dragos, Commander's, Antoines, Galitoires, Central Grocery, Cafe Du Monde, Pat Os, Tropical Ise, Old Absinthe House
Any else you care to add?

Hard to know where to start. There are several recent threads here on NO restaurants that would be worth reading through.

I do not mean this to be insulting at all so please don't take it that way. But this is about as tourist trap a list as you could possibly make (only way it would be more so if you added Mother's and Oceana, yuk). Commander's is great, Galatoires is a cool old school experience (dress code for both, still), though.
If I recall Central Grocery is still making repairs from Ida, I think they opened a temporary location down the block.
I do not like Drago's at all, personally, for anything except Charbroiled oysters. The rest of their menu, for me, sucks. Everyone is different though, a lot of people love it.
If you really WANT the tourist experience then yeah this list is fine, but I will tell you the French Quarter is really rough these days. It is pretty thugged up at night. And why would you want to go to Tropical freaking Isle if you aren't 17 or a dudebrah?
If you can find time to get out of the French Quarter and experience better, less shitty parts of New Orleans, and restaurants with actual good food, I would do so. Its hard to find the mix of Tourist and Non-Tourist.

I wouldn't necessarily send you to strictly local places at all. A lot of them are on the tourist radar. Knowing more about what you want would be helpful.

I find people tend to overlook Uptown/the Garden District on weekend trips. It's really nice, especially on a Spring morning.
Maybe get some coffee and breakfast at the Columns and walk around a bit. Clancy's and Patois are good for dinner. Have a drink and/or meal at the Chloe and/or Hot Tin. Plenty of poboy options as well.

If you want to explore Uptown a bit:
Dinner at Costera, Crepe Nanou, or Clancy's followed by dessert at Creole Creamery. Grab drinks at Kingpin or another nearby bar afterwards.
Oak St. and Maple St. are another 2 good areas to look at.

Peche is something I always recommend to anyone visiting for the first time or first time in a long time. I would also explicitly recommend NOT going to Antoines.
