The best brewery in the city (arguably in the state), All Relations, closed its doors for good last weekend.
I went by around 330 on Saturday and may have been one of the last customers. The owner was a really nice guy and gave me two extra 4 packs of the pina colada beer. He told me that there’s talk with new investors to keep the place afloat. Fingers crossed

I pulled up at like 6:55 (they closed at 7)
I cleaned out the last of their legit snack stout plus they gave me a couple four packs of speghetti models and some star wipes. Definitely bittersweet.

Myself and a NJ transplant buddy of mine want to bring good pizza by the slice uptown.
HMU if you want investors
Do you have a spot?

Staffing back up a year from now is going to be really hard.

Make it within walking distance of TU/Loyola and you will print money. We’ve got no slice shops. I’ve long wished for a Pizza Delicious in the university section.

I would love to take over broadway pizza (aka the boot). That pie is terrible

Think of a place like Antoine's.
Cant see how they make it if next MG is a no go or even a slow go.

There’s a small former coffee shop for rent around the corner. Freret & Lowerline

Antoine’s is already slow AF. They live off of MG and weddings. Private events.
It’s a shame because they have a 100+ year old classic menu and it’s really good.

Freret is a tough sell

That and Christmas. It isn’t a particularly good restaurant anymore, locals only go for events and/or holidays. However I would assume the family that runs Antoine’s owns the property outright at this point, would They not? What would be the biggest impediment to them re opening ? What is keeping them from holding out until tourism returns in earnest ?

Can someone revive Dino's? Get the recipes and do it.

I can understand the appeal of opening up in a former pizza place, because the equipment and so on is already in place, making start up cost much less.
But you also have to deal with perception in the neighborhood. If a pizza place was bad, then a new spot opening up in the same location doing the same thing will be met with a pre-existing negative thought, justified or not.

I wish someone would make a go of the old Foodies/Willie Mae's location not too far away on St. Charles. Site has some kind of weird zoning that requires market/grocery sales? And zero parking.

20 years ago that spot was slinging out legit NY style pizzas. No reason they can't do so again.
Same with NY Pizza on Magazine (formerly on Carrollton). It's criminal THAT place is still holding onto the same name.

I just don’t know if it is high enough foot traffic

Certain sections of Freret have fairly high foot traffic. Even areas outside of the Jefferson/Napoleon stretch. Lowerline is very close to campus as well.
