The CDC has ceded its authority to Trump. They no longer use only science or epidemiological data to make its proclamations.

I understand why business don’t want to play the game. The communists that run this city will revoke their licenses.

It’s up to us.

Friend,

Do you not ICD-10? A person admitted in any hospital usually has a number of diagnoses. Ask a doctor how many times they have seen a person in a hospital who only has one diagnosis.

A person arriving to a hospital with covid-19 will only get admitted if they also have some form of respiratory distress or pneumonia or perhaps kidney failure. There is no reason to admit a person for covid-19 alone. There is a reason to admit if they have need for supplemental oxygen or fluids to allow an acute kidney injury to resolve.

The only people who are not dying from covid-19 in that chart are the people who are not being charted on appropriately or who likely died at home and no further investigation is done beyond a covid-19 test.

Again, it's a terrible interpretation of the information to say that "only 6% of people actually died of covid" when the truth is that nearing 100% of people who are in that 170,000 death count died of conditions caused by covid, such as ARDS, pneumonia or AKI due to diarrhea associated with covid-19 infection of the intestines.

And some died of a car accident, etc. Its naive to think they are not inflating these numbers for $

Think the point is, if you are healthy you are most likely not going to die.

The point is, get the healthy people back into the workforce and open this country back up again while continuing to help those vulnerable.

Shutting the whole country down is not acceptable if these numbers are correct.

Friend,

You are confusing co-morbidites with other conditions present in those who have died. Having a condition such as ARDS or pneumonia is not a co-morbidity. These are conditions that are a direct result of the coronavirus. While it is true that those with co-morbidities are more likely to have severe disease which leads to having one of these life threatening conditions (ARDS, pneumonia, coagulopathy), the graph you showed and the statistic you are using does not distinguish between co-morbidity and other diagnoses such as ARDS or respiratory failure.

The point is "the truth shall set you free." Do not hide or distort the truth because in the end, distortion and lies lead to bondage. You are correct in saying that most healthy people who are under 65 will not have severe disease and will not die. You may be correct in saying we need to ease restrictions. But to use bad arguments to support opinions like that will lead to bad outcomes.

TulaneLSU

Friend,

The numbers are there, but I will summarize
LINK

Other conditions present at time of death for all ages:

Pneumonia or Influenza (there is a very good reason to separate these two; not sure why they are grouped together, as very few people in the last four months in America have had co-infections of covid-19 and influenza):
64,465

Chronic lower respiratory disease:
12,947

ARDS:
21,054

Respiratory failure:
52,045

Respiratory arrest:
3158

Other disease of the respiratory system:
5311

Hypertension:
33,153

Ischemic heart disease:
16,963

Cardiac arrest:
19,432

Cardiac arrhythmia:
9,254

I will let you continue with the list as it goes on for pages.

Again, a chiropractor should not be analyzing this information for public consumption nor should some two bit reporter, as these uneducated buffoons come up with ridiculous conclusions, such as "only 6% of people of that 170,000 actually died of covid. Look at the stats!!! 65,000 died of pneumonia. And another 20,000 of cardiac arrest. See, it wasn't really covid-19!!!!!"

People here mock social media as a cause of the downward trend of society. But what many here are doing with this poorly interpreted data is no different in nature from what people who rush to riot after someone is shot by the police. They look at at the headline and do not care about truth. They rush to action because they have no discipline or discernment.

The sad part about this hoopla is that the wackos out there who think they've found some hidden golden key are using this information to misguide people. All along the medical profession and government have warned people with certain co-morbidites that they are more likely to have severe disease. This release of information is not new, and the CDC has had this info on their site, updated weekly since March.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

P.S. One reason for the low vent usage is due to poor outcomes with vents. Very few people who get put on vents survive, so doctors are using every possible method to prevent their use. If that means Bipap with FiO2 set at 100%, so be it. Vents seem, for most, only to keep oxygen in the system, but survival is very low when employed.

Unfortunately, we don't know. We now have to peer review the CDC.

I am sorry, I mean no underlining pre-existing conditions prior to the Covid infection data. You don’t know how many of these people already had respiratory issues.

How many of them smoked their entire lives and had a depleted oxygen intake?

Friend,

It is how I write all my letters. When I realized this forum was a place of correspondence among friends, probably around November of 2019, I realized I should do my friends the honor of the formalities of a letter. I think you will find, if you choose to follow suit, you are much more inclined to respond to people in a more civil and engaging manner, which is often lacking on internet forums. Try for yourself, and join the crowd. It is a liberating and civil style. We would all do well to bring a bit more propriety and decorum to all spaces in our lives.

Lets not go the Trump route, please. CDC has stepped on their peckers at every opportunity. There are MUCH more credible sources than the CDC.
