Need a recommendation for a friend and I for breakfast tomorrow, haven’t been out to breakfast here in a long time. I’m located around Prytania and Louisiana, will be driving so distance not a problem, but don’t want to go all the way out to Metairie or the westbank. Also not on a schedule so we don’t have to be in and out super quick. I know that Wakin’ Bakin’ is just around the corner and have heard a few good things about it, but haven’t been there.

Thanks!

It's hard to beat a pork roll egg and cheese at Stein's Deli.

Wakin Bakin is two blocks away.

Really good. Still has the same A/C as Coulis though.

Nevermind, see it is in your OP.

Red Dog would he second, but the drinks make those meals.

Yeah I’m leaning Wakin Bakin since it’s so close. May have to give it a shot. Didn’t know Red Dog had breakfast, love their lunch/dinner stuff.

Atchafalaya but it's more for brunch. Corner of Louisiana and yanny.

Slim Goodies on Magazine was really good. I had the hashbrown etoufee and one of the best bloody mary's I've ever had. The ruby slipper was a major let down compared to Slim Goodies.

ETA: Walking distance from you!

All I can figure is that I don't get it.

Unlike TatW, which I have really enjoyed most of what I have had, the food just seems expensive for breakfast and not particularly remarkable food. As in, far down my list to ever visit again.

Compare it to Wakin' Bakin' (ate there today) and the food was all good. Still maybe expensive when compared to somewhere like Slim's, but nonetheless good food.

Slim's - Daily breakfast.
Wakin Bakin - Good for when you want something a little more.
Red Dog - Great weekend spot and great to start day drinking.
Steins - Can't go wrong, but prefer him for lunch.
