What is the Amazing Chicken called at other Chinese restaurants? Is there a comparable dish? I’ve never been able to find anything like it other restaurants. TIA

Is that the one with the crispy fried chicken and bell peppers? I think Singapore Chicken has the mushrooms.

Yes. I’ve lived in New Orleans for the last 8 years and I haven’t been able to find anything like it.

Literally nothing.

Someone on here recently said Nine Dragon has new owners/recipes and the old owners own Chinese Kitchen on Brightside.

I take it that none of you have found anything similar to Amazing Chicken?

The quest to find that dish outside of that small dirty hole in the wall has gone on forever and no one has found anything that comes close

I would pay double what 9 Dragon charges if I could get it in Mandeville or NOLA

That is very disappointing Should F&D Board start a GoFundMe to franchise Nine Dragon in the New Orleans Area? Just for the sole purpose of getting Amazing Chicken!

There’s a Chinese place in Zachary that makes it , Hong Kong. Near Sammy’s at Old Scenic Highway. Same dish but I don’t know if it’s as good as I’ve never eaten at the place y’all talk about.

They’re different places owned by different people. 9 Dragon on Highland is great though. They have unique stuff, and the best Hot and Sour Soup in town.

Nine Dragon by Mellow Mushroom is the one they’re referencing in this thread. It’s regular Chinese food, but it has always been my favorite of that type. Although if it’s true they’re no longer there and now own Chinese Kitchen, I’ll have to swap over.

The one on Highland is Nine Dragon Noodle House. Its excellent and on par with Omi (although imo Omi is very inconsistent). The one on Burbank is your typical strip mall Chinese but among those in BR its one of the better ones

Highland. Best Chinese in the area, imo.

This isn't true. A quick trip to the secretary of state's website shows that Nine Dragon Noodle House and Nine Dragon Buffet had the same owner.

So then how goes Chinese Kitchen factor in? People here have always said the two Nine/9 are different and their food tastes entirely different. Not a fan of the Lo Mein at 9. Not a fan of the Hot and Sour at Nine.

Is it possible the 9 people took over Nine and the original Nine owners now have Chinese Kitchen? And that is why Nine is different now?
