We are staying at the Westin Grand Central.
We stayed there a couple of months ago. Be sure to use your daily resort credit. We spent ours on wine at the bar.
Le Pavillion is 3 blocks away. It was a very nice meal and a 1 Michelin star restaurant.
I second Le Benardin, if you can swing it. If not, Aldo Sohm is next door and has great wines.
PJ Clarke's is a few blocks away and is a great spot for lunch. It has a great "turn of the century" vibe and a fantastic lobster roll.

Peking Duck House
I love Peking Duck House. We go every trip to NYC. I love the formal table side carving of the duck. I agree quintessential New York. I’m also intrigued by the dive bar? across the street which I’ve never been but there’s always a line out the door.

Not a dive.. but local. If you're out exploring Central Park and end up near the Metropolitan Museum of Art.. Walk East at 8th Street, to Dorrian's Red Hand on 84th and 2nd. It's been in existence since Prohibition and it's still off the tourist's map. It's a local, preppy Irish Upper East Side hang out. Burgers, brunch, drinks and there's still always a Dorrian sitting at the bar. Every trip I make to the city includes a couple of drinks at Dorrian's and I feel right at home.

Really appreciate all the input in this thread. Going in a few weeks. I've been a few times before but needed to look for new things to try. Hitting up Le Pavilion, Johns on Bleeker, Zuckers, Gallaghers, as well as a few others because of this thread.

Also.. check out Eataly on 23rd Street and 5th Avenue. It's Mario Batali and Lydia Bastianich's food mall. They have everything under the sun and great pizza.
