If you are looking for something other than Southern Decadence to do in your spare time when in New Orleans for the game this weekend, check out some of New Orleans' new craft breweries. These are great, small batch breweries which make fantastic beer that you can buy on site.

Royal Brewery (best of the lot)
7366 Townsend Pl
New Orleans, LA 70126

Brieux Carré Brewing Co.
2115 Decatur St.
New Orleans, LA 70116

Urban South Brewery
1645 Tchoupitoulas St
New Orleans, LA 70130

Feel free to add other good places to get good beer.

The Pub will be rocking this weekend. It's an excellent location to grab some pretty rare craft beers from around the country. I think there is a beer share amongst other things Saturday at 2.

NOLA Brewing
Urban South Brewery
Second Line Brewing
Brieux Carre Brewing
Courtyard Brewery
Wayward Owl Brewing
Parleaux Beer Lab
40 Arpent Brewing
Port Orleans Brewing
Royal Brewing

My ranking:
1. Courtyard
2. Urban South
3. Nola

Not sure the rest, you can mix and match as you wish

I haven't been to Royal, but Courtyard is better than the other two for sure.

My favorite place to grab a beer.

ETA: Nola's Funk Series are probably my favorite beers produced in the city, though.

Well, he did originally post this thread on the rant. So you have to deduct 50 IQ points right there.

Of the ones I've been to, I really liked their beer. It's a spartan place, for sure, but to me it's about the beer.

Oh, don't you act coy. You're from NOLA.

Well, its all about what you like but not sure too many others agree with that top3.

I haven't been to or even tasted one of the beers of the Royal Brewery. What, in your opinion, makes them the "best of the lot"?

Seems a pretty bold claim, so I'm genuinely curious how you see them standing out so.

It is subjective. Who makes the best roast beef poboy? You would (hopefully) answer by thinking about the ones you've had and give your opinion about what you prefer. I just found their beer to be really really good. I don't do tasting notes well. It isn't too hoppy, not bitter at all, and a good full flavor. I liked it so much I went back out there with my brother and some friends. It's just real high quality.
