My grandpa is stuck at Ochsner (on jefferson) with my grandma who had surgery last night. I know he is sick of hospital food and I'd like to get something delivered to him since they'll be staying another night. I'm not able to make there to drop it off myself, so I'm trying to call something in. He likes burgers. Does anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks.

The title says Ochsner East Jeff.

Grandpa is stuck at West Jeff.

Ochsner Main Campus is on Jeff Hwy.

Where should we send the food for pawpaw?

Gotcha. Pick up some burgers from River Shack on River Road. It's just around the corner. They don't deliver, but they are damn good burgers.

The Chinese place next door is actually decent, i think they deliver. If not he could walk there.

And there is a NO Original Daiquiris across the street, thats what i would want if i was sick.

Does Blue Tomato deliver? If so, they have good food and are close.

My recommendation for River Shack isn't very helpful if OP isn't going there. I don't know what I was thinking there.

The campus menus website: LINK
has a list of places that deliver to the university area, and if you look at the individual restos, many will deliver to the Ochsner/Jefferson area as well. Hope grammaw gets well soon. Nice of you to think of grandpaw.

Also, the Reginelli's in Elmwood delivers. Besides pizza, its menu offers decent salads and several baked pasta dishes. LINK

Elmwood location still wasn't open as of last week. If it opened over the holiday weekend, I'd be surprised. Last I looked inside, it was very much a work in progress.

No. It. Is. Not.
Got stuck there for a brief observation last year, and it was godawful. To wit, baked tilapia covered in a cream sauce, served with whole kernel corn:
What genius made everything on the plate the same color? Plus beige cookies and a beige roll. More starches in one meal than I eat in two days. And have you smelled baked fish that's been sitting around for an hour or so while it's being delivered?

Touro's food is better, though this is the sort of restaurant reviewing you don't really want to experience.

They recently changed to a "healthy" menu so I imagine the food sucks. But for hospital food Ochsner main campus wasn't bad when I was there about 4 years ago.
