I'm not a huge fan of gift cards/certificates but for something like this it may be perfect. There may be something this person wants but won't buy it themselves and may not tell anyone about it. A gift certificate to someplace like Goodwood Hardware or Caire Hotel and Restaurant Supply LINK or some other quality chef suppy store might be the perfect gift. I know when I go there for stuff I always see stuff I'd LIKE to have but just don't buy it myself.

Something else might be something from Umai Dry LINK for them to try their hand at dry aging or charcuterie.

Simplee Gourmet might be just the ticket. Gift card there or maybe a cooking class. They have a bread baking class I bet they'd love! Everyone that loves cooking would love to be able to conquer baking.

You reminded me how much I love my baking steel. I gave one to a friend in May and now she wants another one for Christmas.

I've said many times that my hand immersion blender is one of my favorite and most used gadgets, but it doesn't sound like this person cooks in such a way to use one much.

He could always use it to blend up some cocktails while he's grilling.

I've never used it for cocktails, but you've given me a few ideas.
