Do something besides a restaurant. Like a picnic or home cooking.

Agreed. A picnic doesn't appeal to me, at all. Cooking at home or being cooked for is something I love, but for this, I'd prefer going out. Unlike some, though, I prefer more of a festive setting than a dark quiet place.

We live together. We cook together every day.

We love going out to eat. We love fine dining.

I'm not doing it AT the restaurant, I have other plans.

However, looks like its going to be August.

So I take it that you didnt like my idea of going to the restaurant for pre party, then the Dungeon for actual "will you"?

Whats the over/under on her saying yes?

Well...

Considering our wedding is mostly already planned she's going to say yes.

But she would be very pissed. She would say no and make me re-ask in a more suitable atmosphere.

Then whats the point of all this? Since this is a forgone conclusion and its sorta after the fact, take her to Popeyes on Canal and be done with it.

She wants it. We've known we are going to get married for a long time. We've planned a destination wedding long in advance to give people time to plan. I just wanted to pay for the ring in cash and still have money to pay for a wedding.

She still wants something romantic.

What does this have to do with it? She already knows they're getting married, already has the wedding planned, prolly has the dress picked out already. Since this cats already out the bag, I say go for the grunge effect.

I have a gondola ride in City Park planned for that night. IF the mood is right there I'll do it there.

If not there is a place in the park where we frequent on a little bridge and I will do it there. There is a full moon that night.

ETA, nevermind, I see you're not going that route.
