Jeez. Sounds almost exactly how I proposed to my wife. Other than the fact that we were vacationing in Venice at the time. Truth.
There was an open cafe nearby and with a piano player/singer who was singing "Oh, Mandy" phonetically. 
Seriously, sounds like a very romantic evening. All the best.

No shite. Even though he wrote songs that were even worse. I swear to God, this guy in Venice was singing it an clearly was doint it phonetically. Didn't know any English at all. Thankfully, my wife said "yes" anyway. We chuckle about it til this day.
