Had a Sharp Carousel for 24 years. Went back with a Sharp in our new house.

I look for a rice button when I buy. Got a 10 year old Kenmore currently.

I’ve had excellent results and positive experiences with Panasonic

I'll second the Panasonic. Ours has a huge interior. When I got it, it had the largest interior of any microwave for the exterior size.

Plus I like the way the buttons work. You type a number and that's the time to cook. Don't have to press a button before to tell it you want a timed cook. Timed cooking is the "default" setting as the microwave should be.

Panasonic has a patent on controlling power levels in an inverter microwave and it just makes them better than all the rest. They aren't expensive either and you can get them at Costco pretty cheap.

I'm sure that Lowe's and home Depot and Costco collude on prices, we just replaced an above range GE and all showed deep sale prices but within a few bucks of each other.

We have a Panasonic Inverter for about 12 years, very good unit. When it dies I think I'll give the Breville Wave a go.

I have never had a microwave die. I end up replacing them when the numbers/digital display quits working. Setting the timer gets to be a guessing game
