I’ve ordered a ton from Onyx. Highly recommend them as well.

Any specific recommendations from the other two you linked?

Starbucks Breakfast Blend or Pikes Peak.

I used to drink Community and it really went downhill 5-10 years ago.

You prefer Starbucks to community?

I’ll somewhat agree on the basic community blends but the Colombian, Coffee and Chicory, New Orleans Blend, and Hotel Blend are what I rotate through. The Private Reserve ones I’ve tried have been great too.

Another option for the OP, if you have a Sprouts grocery store in your area, their whole beans you can grind in the store are pretty good. I get a medium-dark roast that is great. I grind it pretty coarse and it makes a great cup.

Nice! Onyx is legit, and they bring in new coffees constantly. I bought a bag of Costa Rica Tres Milargos a few months back from them that tasted like bubble gum (I realize that probably sounds weird, but it was incredibly good). They also bring in experimental varietals (the Sidra currently in their shop is one these), and they get pretty wild.
Of their current offerings, I highly recommend:
Eth. Yabitu Koba, anything Guji will knock your socks off LINK
Tropical Weather, which is a blend of two Ethiopians, one natural and one washed processed. Not my favorite, but definitely fun. I brought this in while doing r&d on a new blend at my company, and it was decent.

Keep an eye on their store around the holidays, they usually do an advent calendar and it has 24 single origin coffees. I'll definitely be buying it again this year.

New Orleans has a few good specialty/third wave options, and will probably have 2-3 more in the next few years.
I would go with any of these:

Stumptown

French Truck

I'm a coffee snob, but I'm cheap.

LavAssa Crema e Gusto. About 3 bucks a block from Amazon.

If I’m looking at French Truck, are they all third wave or just the one you linked?

In Starbucks line I prefer the Verona. It's a darker coffee than Pike's Peak. Also, you might try some of the Lavazza blends. I prefer on the darker/bolder side but, they have a broad offering of blends to try.

95% of the time I will go with the Community Private Reserve Founders Blend, but when I want something different I'll go pick up a bag of Cafeciteaux and grind it myself, possibly bust out the french press. Retail Locations

For a quick grab, we usually go with Community Chicory or Louisiana Private. From time to time, we'll get the seasonal flavor ones.

Regarding the 3rd wave of coffee revelations a previous poster mentioned, we love French Truck out of New Orleans. We also discovered Buddy Brew based out of Tampa on a Saints away game trip and they were solid as well. Buddy Brew

Hey Cafe started a group to home roast in popcorn poppers. I'm sure the roast won't be even and there are probably other drawbacks.

My little girl loves helping me though. First batch from last night.

Find local roasters and buy coffee from them. They will usually rotate beans from all over, giving you easy variance.
